By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

I’ve probably asked this before…. But why do people choose to block you after they ask for a photo….. now I get im no Brad Pitt or any other hunk but surely a ‘not for me’ message is nicer than a block

I also realise I’m not everyone’s cup of tea… so I understand that …

And I know they can’t respond to everyone … but if they respond to say ‘face pic’ ….then is that more effort to say ‘no thanks’

I probably already know the type of replies … but I just wanted to post a thread and ‘face Friday’ and ‘fab for follow’ were already taken

To say no thanks after receiving a face picture seems quite rude.

Blocking is also rude of course but far less likely to lead to some possible abuse.

Carlisle usually

You're blocked, so they're not going to tell you the reasons.

So just assume it's because your gorgeous face intimidated them, because you're so obviously out of their league, and they only blocked you rather than embarass themselves

Is it nicer to receive a 'not for me' message?

I wouldn't like either after sending face pictures of I'm truthful. I think the message is the same just delivered differently.

We went face pictures once and the guy immediately deleted his profile

The last one I turned down, I said , thank you , not quite what I'm looking for, but I prefer much hairier or something similar, and wish them all the best

Which is totally acceptable.. I don't think turning someone down after being sent a face pic is rude at all... taking pity and leading someone on only to deny them later would be worse

Only been blocked once, and that was after a proper reply to their profile, met their criteria, wrote a decent email, no cock pics. Just a rude response back and block.

It's how this place rolls. People say it's about what you put in, but it's really not.

I thought it a message would be nicer… in my opinion of course. But as others have said ..they’d prefer a block too.

Next Door

I've been blocked by a few after sending a face picture, it's not nice.

I would rather have a thanks but no thanks and I try to send a no thanks message also.

By blocking at least you won't send another message to them in a few months time

Have you ever sent back a polite 'thanks, but no thanks' message?

And then received a barrage of abuse, calling you all the names under the sun, telling you what they're gonna do to you if they ever see you, or describing what you deserve for daring to not find them attractive?

And before amyone starts with the 'its not ALL MEN'

I know it's not all men, 90% of them are good eggs, who can handle a little rejection.

But if i layed 10 maltesers out Infront of you and told you 9 of them were chocolate, but one was infact a nugget of sh!t.... You'd treat every one of those maltesers with the same level of caution wouldn't you?

The block button is just easier!

Believe me, I do respond, nicely I may add.. then I get abuse.. usually because I'm.curvy.. so please understand this may be a reason some people block. X

Another valid point …. And again the whole reason for the thread is to see why people who do it do it

And as for the chocolate…. If there’s 10 malteaser in front of me I’ll put them all in at once… and hope the chocolate taste dulls the little shit nugget taste

It's the internet way unfortunately, people do it because they can. If they wanted to block you then there's no good reason why they can't do so after replying with a thanks for your message but I don't we're a match.

They probably did it so that you don't message them again. I know it's harsh but we all do it. I've said no thanks to guys and a few weeks or so later they message again. It's a bit of a pain tbh having to tell them I already said no to them so I block now to save them the bother x

Some find it difficult saying no thank you, because they're concerned the response may be aggressive, or because they simply feel bad rejecting someone.

Maybe it's a reflection upon themselves in that rejection can hurt.

Some don't feel strong enough to say no because they are easily pushed into agreeing to meet, out of feeling bad.

Maybe you look familiar, or they actually recognised you.

Rather than hope others adapt to appease you, to to adapt to others and accept some simply make their choices, because they can.

I agree though, communication would make this site a whole lot easier if people did so correctly.
