I'm not one for moaning when I'm feeling under the weather, however after being in bed/on the sofa since Monday evening I am beginning to wish I had someone to look after me
Been to the doctors today to be told I have a sinus infection, been given strong antibiotics and a virus, been told to sweat it out.
Problem is I have only managed to eat a large pot of yogurt since Monday night, and drank loads of lucozade
My question is please can someone give me any advice on how I can overcome this quicker, and also how to deal with work that expect me to turn up?
Thank |

Have you a sick note, that would sort work.
Try soups to fill you up a bit more than yoghurts. I've had toothache since Monday, so share your pain.
Hope you get better very soon x |

I feel for you. I've recently overcome whooping cough and a chest infection and being a single parent, still had to get up and take son to school etc.
Work - you can't have a sick note until your self-certification has ran out which is 7 days. If your ill, your ill and there is no point going to work if you are not 100%. I'm lucky, I work for a great company and they understood that I needed to be fully fit.
Lots or oranges and chicken soup. Hope you feel better soon x |

Switch the lucozade to water & plenty of it. Stay hydrated, soup as suggested is a good idea, porridge is great too. Try to graze often on wholesome foods to provide the energy in place of the Lucozade sugar rush.
And if you can really force yourself, try a short walk for some fresh air.
Go into work, pass on whatever you've got to your colleagues, watch the rest of the workforce start calling in sick, tell your boss 'told you I was ill' |

"If you have a sinus infection, stay away from dairy, I find it just makes it worse.
..... or at least cow's milk products."
'Cause everyone has cats milk in the fridge...'

Steam your head!
Preferably with menthol or olbas oil in the water. It is the only way to relieve the pressure in your sinuses and begin to move all the crap. Do it three times a day, a kettle of boiling water in a bowl, a towel over your head to channel the steam and inhale through your nose and out through the mouth.
And then make sure you have lots of tissues handy for when the crap starts to move!
Hope you feel better soon. |

I had my first ever sinus infection last year (I rarely get colds) and this made a huge difference. |

I'll second that I often suffer from sinusitis and its hellish painful. Steaming is the only way to go no drugs touch it. Good luck x |
