"Secondary question, am I the only weirdo who prefers lemon over vinegar on their fish?"
Finally! Vinegar all over my chips but I don’t want it near my fish!
I get it wrapped separately so I can put lemon on it! |

Every 2-3 weeks on a Friday night I have a large cod & chips at £13.50 a regular cod & chips is £12.00.I appreciate that living in London it’s probably more expensive than other parts of the UK and even other parts of London. I don’t mind paying it as it’s a thin batter on the cod which I personally like. |

Where I spend most of my weekends we have a local van that does the round of the villages and estates. They do fish and chips for around £8-9 and you get the crispy batter bits thrown in which I love |

When I bought my first place I was shuttling in and out for hours carrying stuff from the van. In the evening a neighbour appeared, saying they didn't want to interrupt as they could see I was busy, but they thought I could use this. They handed over a large portion of wrapped fish and chips, a bottle of Champagne and a mug.
Sat there amidst my boxes and ate and drank one of the happiest & best meals of my life. Sometimes fish and chips are perfect. |

No, I've seen people squirt lemon on fish.
I hate it when a restaurant puts the lemon slice on the fish.
"
Next to the fish is fine I can apply it myself |

I don't like chips! There, I've said it. I do, however, love the fish - I just get the biggest cod they have and get them to double-batter it, 2 or 3 pickled onions and loads of lemon and tartare sauce. (always have these at home, never from the fish shop).

Just heard about this from my boss
Fish , chips and curry sauce is a fave
I would say usually a large portion of chips and two nice sausages
But given it was a search for a second sausage that brought us to fab it seems a bit of a pun
Battered sausages need not apply
Still looking but cod knows if we will find one
As for dinner , Thai fish cakes and chips
Which feels close enough to fish and chips

I'm planning on hitting the chippy tomorrow evening, chips, large battered fish, mushy peas, pickled onion, bread and butter.
Washed down with a fresh white Chardonnay. |

See if you can locate a bottle of Hamilton Russell. It's the best Chardonnay ever. ² |

"May I recommend Fishcoteque, near Waterloo Station.
Best chippie in London.
Not as good as the Every Fish Bar near Wembley!
Have you had fish and chips from Fishcoteque?"
Apologies, I was being a little facetious with that remark. I haven't tried Fishcoteque as I've thought it was a tourist place, next time I'm by Waterloo I'll consider it.
