Mine is one simple word: Reciprocity. Basically you get what you give, or not in some cases. You give me time and good energy, you get that good shit right back… you don’t want to bother with me? Well that’s the energy you’re gonna get next time you want something ??????? |

That's my life motto "
I like this. My partner died suddenly and unexpectedly at 59 with so many things still to do. Since then I’ve taken the holidays/gone to the gigs/eaten the best meals - because life is too short to put things off. |

So sorry that your partner died.
My dad's 96 now and still lives by that. He's remarkable. We try to also only yesterday we said we treat out life like a holiday |

I have a couple of mottos that i live by
The first is short:
No one cares, work harder
The second is much longer though but part of it is:
Never be ordinary, never been mediocre. Be a lion and show people who you are

But, darling Littlebird, surely that’s an unachievable goal? For starters, you can’t read it when you’re asleep. And even when you do wake up, you’ve chosen the body part furthest from your eyes (I know it’s not actually that far )
But when you read “Get up earlier”, you’ve already failed because you’re getting up when you get up, not earlier……

Some people have a weird impression it's a defeatist attitude. But it's not. I think it's more like the prayer they use in NA.
Give me the strength to change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I cannot, and the wisdom to know which is which. Or something like that, I only hear it second hand when certain friends are going through hard times.
It's not about just blindly accepting what comes, but that sometimes, even with the best of intentions and all the power in the world, some things were just never meant to be. And that's okay, because it not being okay doesn't change anything except your own happiness. |

Also, it’s that inevitability. As you say, things you can’t change.
So you’re forced into a situation you didn’t want, but can’t avoid it. So you MUST adapt quickly or you lose. So ‘it is what it is! deal with it head on with everything you’ve got.
It made me a stronger person.
