After the sausage sandwich thread Dave started earlier it reminded me that my ex thought I was weird for refusing to eat a sandwich without a bag of crisps.
Different sandwich fillings require different crisp flavours.
Am I on my own with this??
Do you have any weird food habits, eat strange combinations of food together or for the ladies with kids any odd pregnancy cravings??
Friend of mine used to dip new potatoes in vanilla Ice cream! Urgh!! |

I like crisp butties - but the idea of crisps with a sandwich seems odd to me. I have had them served to me in pubs, etc, which is ok but I would never do that at home - rarely even buy crisps. |

"I love some crisps with my sarnie too,,,My sister has cold potato sanswiches,,,yuk !!!!!!"
I love cold potatoe sandwiches with brown sauce.
Cold roast potatoe sarnies are better.
I have been known to have a jacket potatoe roll before.
My mum is Irish so that might have something to do with it. |

When I get a curry sauce from the chippy, I have to put tomato sauce on it. |

My ex wife had massive cravings for Branston Pickle during all 3 pregnancies. I loathe Branston Pickle with a passion and can't be in the same room as anyone eating it or if there's an open jar |

"I totally agree
Chicken sandwich goes with ready salted. As does beef and pork.
Tuna goes with salt and vinegar.
Ham goes with smoky bacon"
Grated cheese with ready salted or prawn cocktail.
I like Ham with cheese and onion.
Tuna with salt and vinegar.

Peas, just peas, nothing with them, in a bowl with a spoon. I LOVE them!
I only really noticed when Vince gave me a funny look because I literally ate just a bowl of peas for dinner...
They have to be fresh garden at least, can't stand that marrow fat shit but yeah, I could happily eat them in place of popcorn.

Talking of weird food, I need comfort food right now, and I am going to slice up a tin of Spam, fry until crispy, and then eat with chilli mayo with sesame seeds. |

There was a thread in the past couple of weeks about food nostalgia. I mentioned that my ma used to make spam fritters with chips and beans when things were tight as a kid.
I bought a tin of spam the other day intending to make the fritters....which you may or may not know are slices of spam dipped in batter and fried.
What is unique about the spam I bought though was it was garlic flavoured which was unheard of as a kid.
Looking forward to recreating this meal. |

Had a couple of slices of toasts instead, as I did not realise it was that late!
One with just butter, and the other one with mayo, freshly ground black pepper and sesame seeds.
