In a bit of a pickle here. The flat below has been beeping non-stop.

Now one is in, I think its vacant at the moment. Contacted the management office earlier, they said they would contact the landlord. Nothing happened…, I rang the emergency out of hours number and they can’t help tonight.

I can’t sleep in this and its driving me crazy…

What can I do?

Call the fire brigade, they’ll break in and turn it off

Probably the only answer is stay with a friend and hope the batteries die or the landlord sorts it.

I have to say if a fire alarm is sounding and everyone's refusing to investigate you're probably better off our of the building

Maybe ring your local fire station and report it to them?

I'm assuming that it's a smoke alarm with a low battery warning... so it beeps every minute?

Easiest option would be to get some earplugs

Like living in back in the day. Always some bellend would come in off the piss and make some toast or an oven pizza and fall asleep. Next thing we’re stood outside like a bunch of twats at 0300 waiting for FB to come and turn off the alarm!

So glad I moved out of there. I feel your pain!

"Is there a non-emergency number for the fire bridgade?"

Ring the number for your local Fire Station , they usually answer it still.

Oh bugger. Ear plugs it is then unless there's a sofa elsewhere you can sleep on.

I'm guessing nothing until the landlord sorts it out tomorrow? Keep calling them until its dealt with or file a noise complaint if it doesn't get sorted.

I have very little faith in people getting things sorted.

No they won't. Trust me. Not unless there's smoke coming out from under the door.

He’s already rang emergency services and management company so any ‘damage’ will point back to OP.

I thought alarms were supposed to legally be required to switch off after 20 minutes?

Any number of people could have done it, I'm sure there are neighbours and youths
