I quit cigarettes december 12th. And I've been using a vape to quit.

I started at strength 12, then dropped to 10, 8 and then 6 which I stuck at for a while due to ending a relationship. Then I dropped to 3.

And this weekend I drove to Cornwall and back to keep myself occupied while I went to 0.

And I've done the worst part!

And yes this a look at me thread but so what, spank me!

Well done. When I quit I went cold Turkey and the first week or so is the hardest part. I found keeping myself busy made it a lot easier. I also put the money I would spend on cigarettes into a tin and then bought myself a treat at the end of each week.

I drove 7 hours with only 0% liquids. That was one way to make me to do it, and once the countdown started I couldn't ruin it.

Maybe you should try that.

Well done PW!! I’m really pleased for you.

Every time I hear about another person giving up smoking I smile a happy smile.

That absolutely is not a dig at anyone who smokes, everyone should do what works for them. I just don’t like it.

The hardest thing for me, was going for a drink, because it felt odd not to have a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other!

Well played, I’ve tried literally everything I can think of to quit smoking and so far nothing has worked for me (it’s the action of smoking rather than the nicotine and vapes made me smoke more for a time)

If you’ve gone through the hard part then you’ve got this and I wish you the best of luck keeping it going

Well done ,i managed to quit last year after a couple of failed attempts.Think the difference was this time it was me that wanted to rather than other people telling me i had to.

Last cig 9 months ago used vapes for a while gradually using zero nicotine ones more until gave them up.

well done to anyone else who managed it and hope those that are trying to quit eventually succede

Well done you.

It's a very tough habit to break.

I've done it a couple of times (obviously ultimately started again a couple of times too).

I just went cold turkey.

I found it's not so much the craving for nicotine - though clearly the body is craving it, but more the routine.

Once I broke that...

Thank you.

At the start of this I wouldn't let anyone say anything about it. No well done nothing. And no helpful tips or suggestions.

It's nice read.

And if I do relapse it'll be back to a vape rather than cigerattes. But I really don't want to undo what I've just done! And I'm feeling mighty stubborn on that.
