Hello all,

Had a no yesterday with scuffs to another car and same with my car plus foglight. Otherwise all ok. I took pics but what's the odds the other guy will claim whiplash falsely?

Would the pics of the minor damage be ok to protect me?

The only witnesses were 2 family members in the car

This sort of claim is kinda pushed on by insurance companies. Not always but sometimes. Sad but true

I think that's for the insurance companies to sort out and a doctor. A picture of the damage might help though.

I was thinking that if they did falsely claim injury, would the lack of damage the cars.be sufficient?

Not sure if anyone here has had this. Not saying that he will put a claim in but just crossed my mind

They will inspect both vehicles for the collision damage if there is any chance of a personal injury claim. I had mine checked when someone reversed into me and tried to claim from me saying I had hit them. An assessor came out to check my car and took off the number plate to check the bumper. The damage was not significant enough to allow the other party to proceed with their claim as it was deemed to be just a light touch pressure indentation. However my insurance company then pushed ahead with insurance fraud against the other party. So the other party may or may not try it on but your insurance will fight it on your (their) behalf

Yeah you won’t need witnesses as the accident clearly happened and there is damage, all that would need to be determined is if it was enough impact to cause whiplash. What’s the chance of the other party getting to see a doctor these days anyway? If they didn’t get taken to hospital from the scene I’d say you’re likely to be ok regarding personal injury and regardless, your insurance will push for all the reports and info needed. Have you called your insurance?

Yes did it online thanks.. Uploaded the pics I have.and gave a statement. Genuinely not sure who's at fault.. poss mine. I was reversing back from a queue of cars to go down a back lane, bit hit him reversing across the Central reservation behind me. Genuinely not sure if he was moving too or stationery behind me at an angle. Anyway both rear of cars damaged. Out of my hands now. The damage isn't easy to see on his car as it was a sunny day it was a black car and very shiney lots of reflection of objects and cars in paintwork. am sure they'll sort it out.

Thanks for putting me at ease MC much appreciated
