I’m seeing a lot of ambulance chasing type emails lately.
I was unlucky / smart enough and must be the only person I know not miss-sold PPI - I never took loans so feel like I missed out there but I’ve owned lots of BMW over the years, is this my chance to win some money ?
Anyone done it ? I’m thinking ignore the no win no fee emails and just go direct ? They must just blanket pay everyone out right if all these scammers are happy to work on no win no fee basis ? Why lose half your money to some crooked admin kid with a Desmond pretending to be a solicitor ? |

"I keep getting the same and have had a couple of the cars during the material times.
Might see if there is some proforma type Martin Lewis thing to do in order to secure the bag. "
Good idea. I think maybe it’s possible to our V5 history from DVLA ?
It’s a bit of admin but it may not even be needed.
Bob, the cleaner where I used to work simply phoned all his banks and stated ‘I want my PPI money’ he had no idea what he’d bought or when, they did all the work for him as they were literally settling millions of claims. He got a few fat checks in the coming months. I might try phoning bmw first…. |

"PPI was attached to mortgages, credit cards, over drafts
I always said no thanks , insurance is for clumsy and stupid people with no plan B "
I always said "No" too but got a payout. PPI wasn't just being miss-sold, it was being rolled in to finance agreements without your knowledge. |

There’s a ML post - Google Peter lekarski, 3rd May.
VW Settled out of court in May 2022 for £193 million plus costs . Mercedes first hearing was in Feb, 300, 000 claims could take 1-2 more years
No BMW claims have started yet |

There’s no rush, let Merc finish and pay then BMW will be a doddle. You can get approx 75% back of the price you paid for any affected cars. |

Seems like it's still ongoing as they've just settled another £7.5ml with a car hire insurer. |

So what financial loss have incurred buying your diesel BMW?
What are you claiming for other than jumping on the claim bandwagon in attempt to get easy money? |

Buying into a brand believing their published data is trustworthy when it's not. Their c02's levels were electronically manipulated to give a lower reading - so whilst the car runs fine, it wasn't doing what they reported it should. I'd assume it comes under consumer protection.. |

So the car runs perfectly fine and potentially because it has lower reported emissions it is in a lower tax bracket than it should be. Planning to repay your tax savings? |

"I feel swindled. I was expecting a 'heavy cummers' thread "
I was expecting a thread about climate change (but then I was in a meeting on carbon reduction today) |
