A good old fashioned buttery Victoria Sponge Cake with a little raspberry jam and LOTS of freshly whipped cream, please.
In return, I’ll make the tea for you during your baking and at tea time when we shall partake in the glorious result of your endeavour. |

That also sounds like a most excellent plan. |

"Banana bread please "
I was just looking at some rapidly ripening banana's and think that exact thing.. I only like eating them when they are just turned from green to yellow so once they look like they should I can only make banana bread with them. |

Ditto re four very ripe bananas in my fruit bowl. I add chopped walnuts and mixed candied peel which I adapted from Delia Smith's recipe I've used for years ... Always popular with guests dropping in. |

I'm with Mistress Rouge; a slice of each, please.
But later. With morning coffee it has to be a freshly baked pastry. Which I unfortunately don't have the skill to make. Fortunately for me, part-baked and pre-frozen come to the rescue, and are in the oven right now. Lazy late May Sundays can make you glad to be alive. |

I'm in total agreement. So so lucky to live in France more than the UK and the boulongerie in most towns and villages is not only amazing but also open Sundays. |
