I don't think there's a set ti_eline - it's when you're both clear and open about what you want. Mindful of each other. Happy for each other.

I think you need to have a solid foundation. Trust. Genuine care for each other and respect. Good communication. When you know that others won't and don't affect what you have - whether that's in terms of feelings, doing things together.

And you both know that's what you want.

So essentially... when you can both adult it.

When your foundations are strong and you are doing it for the right reasons (for fantasies, sharing) and not doing it to fill something that’s missing from your relationship.

Also when it’s something you both want to do.
