Are you happy?
Success to me isn't about money or things or status.
It's that feeling of contentment.
It saddens me that when we run in to people, especially those we haven't seen for a long time, we ask them what they do for work, where they live, have they gotten married or had children. Yet we never ask are they happy?
We should.

By making sure that you always have SMART principles in mind at the planning stages. Then you always can quantify your success.
Once management speak invades your brain it’s hard to get it out of your head |

That made me twitch. And not in a good way.
“And what are your KPIs for this weekend, Jaime?”

Well it’s end of period 2 today, so I’ll be checking all my KPU’s today before the function head produces his report tomorrow (yes on a Sunday, yes even a bank holiday weekend, no he doesn’t have a life lol ) |

"Success? "
When the price you pay for success is too high!
When your health suffers, when your family suffers, when your self care suffers!
Being content for what I have is my measurement of my success in all aspects of my life |

Over time, the last 10 years.
But one more thing I learned even though your not chasing promotion there are people still willing to f you over to climb even though you no threat to them
So changed jobs recently to get away from these Muppets but still have to deal with them as I customer to them instead now.
Big risk in changing as new job is fixed term contract and is reviewed later to see if I have proved myself to be permanent. |

My mental health. Where I am now compared to where I was when suffering domestic abuse and having found the strength to leave compared to what might have happened had I not escaped. |

I don't.
I'm only bothered about happiness, contentment and health.
I don't need to be successful. Just experiencing new things, people and events, whether I 'succeed' or 'fail' in the traditional sense is enough for me. I adopted the attitude years ago that it's all about the journey, not the end result.
Sounds like a cliche but to me it's the 'taking part' that's important, not any measure of success.
Having watched 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck' the other day I can relate so much to everything in the film/book.
