"cyclists dont read because they think the highway code doesnt apply to them" lol its the one bastian of freedom left please don't try and take that away from us and our children, you just get annoyed with cyclists because of impatience as with most drivers, absolutely no patience left in this world |

"cyclists dont read because they think the highway code doesnt apply to them"
There's a small amount of reading to do whenever I submit camera footage of cars contravening the highway code. A bit of writing too.
But worth it. |

Great response to the usual lazy stereotyping |

It's not impatience,it's when you see cyclists riding in a way that would get them fined, points, banned or jailed if they drove a car that way.If you want to complain about bad drivers start a thread entitled bad drivers. |

Here we go again. I've seen WAY more motorists breaking the law.
Gbat "
So because you've seen more motorists break the law it's ok for cyclists to. |

Or perhaps YOU start a thread about bad cyclists. This didn't start as one.

"cyclists dont read because they think the highway code doesnt apply to them
It doesn't if you don't go on the highway..........
It does if you cycle on the pavement."
Just done 14 miles, not touched a pavement, canal paths, dedicated cycle paths and parks only. |

"I just got an ebike so I would leave you in the dust "
All roads, except major trunk roads and culs-de-sac should be made one way, this would leave room for safe two way bike lanes for speed demons like me, Catnipkittykat and Dark.Angel. |

It was a lovely ride, but if I commute, round here they have wide pavements as they are either divided or just duel.
So the work run, I can either canal the scenic way, mainly bike path with a little "grey" gaps in between, but I will always divert and go through any urban town park though. But Stoke on Trent in general does have a lot of canals as a legacy of the potteries, mines and steel works. |

A cyclist we both knew was killed last week, by a HGV. It was not the fault of the cyclist. Absolutely sick and tired of reading such comments. There are contraventions of road rules by all sorts of different road users. It's not better or worse if it's a cyclist or any other sort of road user.
Roads in general need to be better planned and laid out for the 21st century. Ditto pavements. I've just pushed in the road for considerable distances due to lack of dropped kerbs. Wheelchair height = no fucker can see you. |
