Polished redwood with a rug over for warmth and to capture the dog hairs, that is in the hallway too.

The floors need a sanding and polish after years of hard wear.

Carpet with the thickest underlay! When I take my trainers off I still want that cushion!

"Unless it's actual polished wood floorboards I prefer carpet"

We had our floorboards slivered and polished in the hallway and living room, then had a party.

The stiletto heel marks gave it a lived in look.

Then we had hard wood laid.

Carpets, wood floors are shite for slipping up in socks when running after small people

Laminate.

Cheaper than wood, the dogs claws don't scratch it, easy to clean and doesn't get stained with liquids/muddy paws and it's funny watching dogs slide around on it.

Deep shag pile carpet is comfier for doing the sex on obvs, but then you've the potential stain issues to deal with again.

When I remodel I'm going for cork. Insulated for my downstairs neighbours but as hygienic/easy to clean as wood. Fuck carpet

Tiles. I love the feel of a solid tile underfoot, whether that's polished gloss or matt finish. It's even better when you have underfloor heating.

They look classy and stay cleaner than carpet.

I like the cleanness of wood floors but the warmth and coziness of carpet.
