Close your curtains during the day to keep the heat trapped behind them.
Open windows wide at night to allow cooler air to circulate.
Sleep under a slightly damp sheet. |

"Drink water, wear loose natural fibre clothing, stay out of the sun between 11 and 3, when you cook use the oven for the shortest time possible "
Good advice but unfortunately some of us have to work in the sun throughout those hours |

It must be draining. I wonder how long it will take for us to adopt working hours that suit the changing climate. Probably until the next ice age |

They'll wait until someone dies until then legally there's no upper limit on temperature to work in .
With the only advice being take regular breaks and drink plenty of water.
I'm diabetic and unfortunately one of the side effects is bodies ability to temperature regulate efficiently not as effective.
Luckily unless it's a specific job that requires it I don't have to wear full PPE.
I feel sorry for the guy's who work on building sites that requires full PPE and the people who work on the roads.
Hard hats just make your head boil.

Coming from a place where we have 40 degrees for a couple of months, I can give some advice.
Drink lots and lots of water - Can't stress this enough. Try tender coconut and water melon too.
Get a fan.
Keep curtains closed during the day and windows open during the night.
Loose clothing.
Avoid memory foam beds if possible.
I don't have tips on sunscreen usage because I never needed one |

Hydration starts a day or two before.
It can be dangerous to drink too much water but not as dangerous as not enough.
My advice is drink it until you are peeing regularly and the pee is clear.
Once you achieve this goal keep regular consistent intake but don't overdo it.
Your body can only absorb so much this is where isotonic drinks come into their own.
But generally speaking very few people drink as much as they should so if you think your not drinking enough your probably way off.
Pee colour and frequency will tell you that. |

This is the technique I follow as well
In my experience, how people handle this depends a lot on humidity. On one hand, hugh humidity implies we lose lot more water. But because of how sweaty we are, people tend to realise how much water they lost and naturally drink a lot of water.
Low humidity results in less loss of water. But people don't realise how much water they are losing and hence don't hydrate themselves.
Pee is anyway a good signal |
