I know it's stated that being ignored is not to be taken badly...but wouldn't it be nice to be just told thanks but no thanks?

how many blocks have you had?

how much better would you feel if you had that many 'thanks but no thanks'?

is personal rejection easier to take than just a block?

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

confused, are you talking about no replys or being blocked?

Either way, according to site rules, a unreplied message is too be taken as a no thanks, and some people also block to prevent that person re-contacting, thus saving time all round

lol go into chat and you will get a lot more blocks. I don't get why anyone would get upset when a random stranger they have not met blocks them. Blocking people just stops them from contacting you again if you are not interested.

"I know it's stated that being ignored is not to be taken badly...but wouldn't it be nice to be just told thanks but no thanks? "

I think some people have given up on doing the polite 'thanks but no thanks' due to some members coming back with abuse etc.

Im not suggesting that you would, just saying that some members have experienced it and that has put them off replying.

yes....click to block

one click to go to a message box, 13 clicks to write the message then another click to send the message.

after that yo have to block the sender ad delete the message

I've just been told by someone who contacted me and didn't meet my requirements (way too young)that I should have just ignored them instead of replying politely 'no thank you' as I had just wasted HIS time.

Can't win!

Well out of well over half the messages I say no thanks to I either get abuse, called a time waster, or the "come on I'm worth a chance", or "what's wrong with me", "ill make it worth your while" blah blah etc. so now I don't bother, as others have said deleting n blocking is easier than the hassle that follows n let's face it still means no either way, just move on

how many messages go unreplied? how would it make you feel getting that many thanks but no thanks messages?

either way they dont want to meet you, why waste anymore thought on them?

.....

all depends on your block policy

i.e. if messages get excessive and not welcomes, or there's absolutely no chance, e.g. X ain't your type, or X (e.g. in my case don't like those of Asian extraction) - I've blocked tonnes that way.....keeps me busy

If you read the site rules, I think you will find that ignoring or not replying to a message is not deemed as rude.

Maybe, one of you guy could try opening a females account, see how you cope with number messages received, maybe then you will understand why messages get ignored

When a guy contacts me I don't have the time or inclination to check that he meets my requirements, so I reply, only then do I get told the usual excuses. THEN I may read and usually block or ignore. But the contact has already been made so the guy now thinks that I am the time waster for no replying to his ridiculous plea's.

Yes they do. I don't think it is my 'job' to check every profile of every guy who decides to contact me when they clearly don't meet my profile requirements. In future I shall just ignore then block if they continue to try to make me move goalposts.

My profile is VERY clear on what I like and prefer, I have to assume that each guy that contacts me actually does meet my needs or I will spend most of my time reading profiles of guys that I have no interest in. I have a life outside of swinging and have better things to do with my time. Like playing with lots of the lovely genuine sexy guys I have met.

with the greatest of respect, short of someone saying "way to go champ!!!" some people will get offended regardless of what way people say no...

whether that be no.. or no reply.. or block....

is one really less ego crushing for some people than another???
