London

Are there films you have saved on your list which you watch multiple times depending on your mood? Maybe just a few scenes?

For me, whenever I want motivation, I watch:

- Good Will Hunting

- Some scenes from Moneyball

- Interstellar

For comedy, I watch

- The big Lebowski

- Snatch

How about you?

Cardiff used to be ridiculously good for house music. Nights such as Lamerica (my fave), Cool House, Sumo etc.

Haven’t been in years now, but Emporium was always a hectic night.

Films are like comfort food for myself, so these always have a special place in my collection.

Streets of Fire, cult film from the 80’s with a great soundtrack and cheesy story, enjoyable popcorn film.

Jaws, terrified me as a child but such a great film with a proper three act storyline. Gruesome for at the time it was a 12 rated film.

Long Good Friday & Sweeney 2, just a perfect gangster / cop double bill.

Kontroll - Downfall - Diva- Subway - Lives of Others, when I’m in the mood for subtitles and a bit more European cinema.

So many other films I enjoy watching but these would always be on a watchlist.

Most of the Marvel films - Avengers is one of my comfort films, just watched it again on Monday.

The Harry Potter films are comfort films too, although now there's the ick factor. Thanks JK

Aliens (one of the best sequels ever)

The Mummy (perfect lazy Sunday afternoon film)

Star Wars (obviously)

There's Christmas films that get watched every year - Home Alone, Gremlins, Ghostbusters, Elf, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Scrooge, and the best Christmas film - Die Hard.

From a kid;

The early Star Wars stuff (whenever I could),

Times Square, Blade Runner, National Lampoon's Animal House, anything by John Landis (Trading Places etc), Withnail and I and the Python films (all taped from the telly in the 80's and watched over and over).

I've saw certain classic Woody Allens, Hitchocks and Bogarts quite a lot as I'd catch them whenever they were on and still would. Saw Casablanca with someone not long ago.

Singin' In the Rain became my big one (love Gene Kelly and had a great 50's musicals collection.)

After that I got really into film in general for a while (new, old and foreign), and always just wanted to see new stuff.

I'm still like that now, I'd rather see something new if possible. pt

"Zoolander"

I new someone who had this one on all the time, so I'd have to count it in. He had his own Blue Steel!

Actually thinking of whacky comedies I watched The Man With Two Brains and All Of Me over and over too. Loved Steve Martin back then, would watch them both again. pt

"Anything from Star Wars, Star Trek Deer Hunter, Taxi Driver, Equilibrium,, too many to mention, then there is the series."
Inteesting acting process as well, when you think of a method actor using emtional memoy the develop the character and yet the characters development start with no emotion and tht slowly builds within the conext of the story.

The Bargee, 1964

staring Harry H Corbett, Ronnie Barker and Eric Sykes.

'Hemel Pike and his cousin Ronnie are two boatmen operating a canal-boat for British Waterways on the Grand Union Canal. Although the canals are struggling due to declining traffic, Hemel refuses to give up his traditional lifestyle. He also enjoys his reputation as a Don Juan, with girlfriends all across the canal network, something of which Ronnie is envious.'

My go to easy watching Sunday afternoon movie.

I love this film and it's an absolute travesty that a sequel was never made.

And yes I don't think this future is too far from reality.

As a kid growing up reading 2000AD it seemed like an impossible future but Dredd seems like a possibility now.

I try and avoid watching films more than once because

1- I already know how the story ends

2- I saw it once before and paid attention, so it is very unlikely I missed anything.

3. I like new stories and new things.

4. When I have tried rewatching a film a second time, I find it never as good as the first time around.

5. 1st time is for watching as a spectator. 2nd time is for watching to critique/analyse.
