I love the theater I would say phantom of the opera is the best I have seen although I've enjoyed all the shows I've been to. Going to see Six and Wicked this year |

The end of season party at Butlins. The best in the worst possible sense. |

"Not theatre but I recently saw a production of Madam Butterfly by a Ukrainian opera company which was excellent."
Well Opera can be even more amazing. That combination of music, singing and deep passion can make it quite intoxicating at times. Big fan. Not many opportunities around here but lucky as I travel a lot and able to see some lovely performances. So glad you enjoyed. |

30 years ago so details are a little hazy.
The entertainment manager that year had been found handcuffed to his bed. He was discovered by the unfortunate cleaners when they went to clean his room in the morning.
Good times. |

It was good. At the very end they want the Ukrainian national anthem...not a dry eye in the house |

Too many to mention for loads of different reasons, theatre is one of my fave things to do.
Saw a local production of Blood Brothers, that was superb. Would recommend when it next goes on tour around the country. |

I remember seeing Helen McRory in 'The Deep Blue Sea' a few years ago and she was amazing.
But one of my best ever, spine-tingling memories was seeing Amber Riley perform 'And I'm Telling You' in Dreamgirls - what a voice!

Oh yes, Warhorse. Amazing.
Also horse related, but much worse, was Equus with Daniel Radcliffe. Impressive staging though. |

I didn’t understand Wicked the first time I saw it, but when the penny dropped it became one of my favourites. To be fair I have enjoyed everything I have seen on stage. If I had to pick one it would be Le Miserables.. |

My top 3 are
phantom of the opera, that will probably always be my favourite
Rock of ages,a really funny feel good show, especially if you like 80s/90s rock music
Rocky horror show, a totally different experience to your usual musical, the audience is as entertaining as the show itself! |

I’ve seen a lot of shows but Phantom and Blood Brothers are my faves…Hamilton and Wicked are very good too. The Book of Mormon is fantastic as is Avenue Q. We Will Rock You is cheesy and funny.
Chess and Starlight Express were awful and wasn’t that enamoured with Cats either.

When I was in New York I saw Punchd*unks Sleep No More ...
I think its classed as immersive theatre...it's certainly not a traditional theatre experience.
But frankly it was amazing. |

I'm surprised noone Has mentioned we will rock you. Killer queen was brilliant. Others for a mention. Charlie and the chocolat factory, Chicago and producers. I'm sure more will come to mind. Oh the lion King fantastic for the kids when the characters came down the aisles and we had aisle seats |

I love going to the theatre.
A very small production that I went to with some guys from work really impressed me (low budget and small venue piece) it was called The Special Relationship, based on true stories of British people who were deported from the United States. One of my projects at work helped liaise to provide interviews of people deported that then provided the basis for the stories depicted. The play was commissioned by Synergy Theatre Project, a company that works towards rehabilitation and resettlement with prisoners, ex-prisoners and young people at risk of offending through theatre and related activities. They also commission new work from playwrights that deals with the prison system.
It was impressive. Thought provoking. Heart breaking. |

We are lucky in this country to have so manyy excellent theatre productions. I have been lucky to see many myself over the years. Some of them several times. Not just the big ones like Les mis, Miss Saigon, Phantom or Evita but some of the smaller productions which are often overlooked but are the most satisfying. |

School productions. Senior school do some fantastic productions but I love the kids at primary school being on stage for the first time. Forgetting their words, randomly coming out with things and their facial expressions. My son did Oliver and was just an orphan but he loved it

Yes and gives them the opportunity to experience art at its best form. I bet you enjoyed watching your son in Oliver too. I was lucky to do some theatre stuff when I was young as well, loved it and certainly touches your soul like music does too. All kids should experience various forms of art no matter what direction they take in life. It does give you a different perspective. |

Sure they can. I have seen some great stuff with people with learning difficulties and disabilities and have been amazing not too mention inspiring. Art in its many forms allows you to express yourself, showcase your talent and skills and removes barriers for many |

Yes, also full of GCSE students that see that and Blood Brothers. That can make it quite a different theatre going experience. |

"Never been im not posh enough"
Most people who enjoy it don't consider themselves posh. Not everything suits everyone but there will be something you like just like when you choose what film to watch, what book to read or what music to listen to. People say the same about paintings but again, it's like picking a house item, some will be to your liking, and others not. Its how you see it and how it makes you feel. Of course nothing wrong if it's not for you. We can't all like everything. |

Everyone belongs, absolutely everyone. If you want to, you should give it another go - the days of it being a whitewashed posh wanker fest are long behind(ish). You can try the more local, indie show rather than the big West End productions, even those have changed recently. For the better. |

Honestly For Black Boys was so good, so relatable, so moving. Beautifully done. One of the last lines ‘this is for Black hours that have considered suicide… but decided that their stories needed to be told’. |

Evita and Les Miserables were good
Cats was, shall we say, challenging
Went to see Hair when I was at school (not with the school), the "important" bit was a let down but the rest was OK
And then there's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang |

I enjoyed a very special performance of Hair when the audience was totally naked - we gathered as naturists.

"Really enjoyed Hadestown and the latest Stoppard. A midsummer's night dream by the NT was incredible but I saw it at the cinema." I would highly recommend the 2016 RSC's The Tempest. They have the DVD out and one of the best performances of said play that I have seen.

The other one to stick in my mind is Six, the musical. |

I've seen both the Book of Mormons and Hamilton twice. Absolutely adored Hamilton.
Saw Dream girls on Broadway many, many moons ago (back in the 80's)
Really enjoyed the annual panto at the Palladium with Julian Clary. Finally got to see Donny Osmond!! He was really good in it.
I haven't been since covid but am looking forward to seeing SIX. |

Used to be a casual technician at my local theatre sk have seen and worked all sorts of pantos and shows.
My favourite has to be Avenue Q. When they left the West End to go on tour they used the original West End set which was all steel construction - weighed a ton to setup but was so worth it.
Was treated to Thriller in the West End for my 40th birthday, first show I actually lost myself in rather than try to work out the tech. That says something! |
