HP are updating some of their printer software so as not to allow users to use 3rd party ink cartridges in many of their printers. If you want to stop HP from controlling what inks you use inside your own printer then you'll have to stop the printer software from auto-updating by following these steps.
Remove computer from the internet.
Click the printer image on the home screen.
Click Advanced Settings.
Click Tools.
Click Printer Updates and click Firmware Updates.
Select “Do not check for updates” and click Apply. |

I do believe, well I was informed that this would be illegal under U.K. law. It goes against some freedom of choice law banning any printer maker from creating a "sole supplier" situation.
For my tuppenceworth , H.P are renown for for creating home pc equipment with built in obsolescence, usually it fails just after the Guarantee runs out. If I am wrong about the law then please let me know but don't slate me I am law buff. But both my HP monitor then desktop then replacement all in one PC all failed within a couple of months of the guarantee running out. I would never buy another H.P Product. |
