"Government safety videos....we used to get shown them at school."
The last programme before the television shut down was always a safety thing. Dave learning to swim or the dangers or crawling into fridges. Best of all, the burning cigarette because you fell asleep in front of the television.  |

The one of the kids on the farm being killed off one by one was like a snuff film! One got electrocuted, one drank some odd chemical. Not sure if it was on telly or one they showed us at school. |

The Unit that made all those films was closed last year. There was a programme about them last year too. |

Whatever happened to sitting down and replaying the same song 100 times to get all the lyrics written out? Or, remembering and arguing about something? The internet is a marvellous thing but I sort of miss the not quite knowing the correct lyrics. |

old people walking past my home d*unk and singing after shut tap. the summer of 76. not many cars in the street so you could play all day. my friends i grew up with. crackajack! and tizwaz! really badly designed british cars painted in awful colours. I could go on all day! Liverpool FC and the sexpistols! all brilliant memories for me! |

the one that sticks in my mind is the kid running barefoot along the beach - then it stops on a freezeframe with his foot about to stomp down on a jagged broken glass bottle. still makes me cringe to this day... |

...what about Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Cream, Pink Floydd, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Wings,10cc,- okay there was a lot of disco/punk/Mowtown....but even some of them produced great sounds... and everyone can sing along to the 70's stuff..... somehow I don't think the music from the 90's onward will be remembered in the same way |
