What film has to many sequels
Jump to: Newest in thread
I was talking to someone the other day about films we failed to get to the end of.
I thought of Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull (I tried a couple of times) and Marvel's Black Widow (I just thought maybe I'll skip this one)... then realised that they both had Ray Winston playing an evil Soviet (or what was clearly meant to be a Soviet)!
That really didn't work for me in both films!

"Halloween although it does happen every year so I may be wrong"
I wish they went with John Carpenters original anthology idea with every film being a different story set on Halloween night. |

The Alien franchise went too far (assuming you include the 2 Prometheus films as part of that franchise too).
It should have stopped after Alien 3 (as a side note I think Aliens is a masterpiece). |

Films get re-written so many times these days (often well into shooting) that the characterisation just falls to bits imo. Without Fassbender (robots always seem to save the day when all else fails, a la Alien 4) those 2 films would collapse into just a few good bits imo. pt |

I loved the first film. Didn't like Aliens at all. But I understand it's rated highly. |

"LoTR
Harry potter
Star wars
Fast and furious
Jason Bourne
Matrix (I'm a huge fan of the original trilogy, but the forth movie wtf?!?)"
The Lord of the Rings was was made to continue over three films. It wasn’t a case of the second and third films cashing in on the popularity of the first.

"Fast and furious is the right answer.

People keep telling me they thought the last one was shit though. If those people stopped paying a tenner to watch the last one they'd stop making the things! pt |

"Don't get Potter and Lotr, surely they just followed the books?
Yes and no, stretching the Hobbit out into 3 films was the worst decision ever.
Totally agree"
I didn't think of the Hobbit (probably as it came first) but that's probably a fair point. I actually bought it on bluray but have never felt like watching it. (Not a huge Freeman fan mind).
I've got not interest in the Potters but I saw a related 'Beasts'? film with someone and quite enjoyed it. With Eddie Redmayne. pt |
