"A good salesman would have sold then car number 2 lol
a serious customer would have brought there car with them
"
They maybe wanted to drive 2 of your cars home with them today so walked to the showroom but didn't like the attitude of the Salesman who was thinking they were timewasters? |

"Must remember never to go car shopping in your place !!!!!!
Unless you know beforehand that you are going to buy one of his cars without even looking at them! "
if you are looking for a car most people would have an idea of what they are looking for ie.7 seater, small eco car, but when you got people looking at fiat 500 then wanting to look at honda civics and then look at fiat pand and a mini cooper and bmw then to finish off a suzuki alto come on just complete idiots |

I didn't realise that you had to KNOW what you wanted to buy before you went shopping for a different...well anything really!
Most people generally want to look around before committing themselves, it's common sense rather than idiocy! |

To be fair to her, when I bought my brand new car I also haggled with the (nice) salesman and eventually got £1,500 knocked off the list price and a few "optional" extras thrown in for free too! |

Why on earth is she an idiot? have you not heard of bartering/haggling? is that not all part of buying and selling cars? And there is a recession on so buyers, particularly in January are in the position of strength.
So you haven't sold her a car, she has a £6;5k (at least) to spend and is, as you type this slagging her off, probably in another showroom spending that money. So tell me again why she is the idiot in this scenario because to be honest I'm struggling with your logic... |

A good salesman would talk them into buying a car that suited them. if everyone knew exactly what car they wanted before they visited your establishment it would not be very long before you was an ex car salesman |

My tips for beating the Salesman.
1 Never tell them how much money you want to spend. if you have to get a loan get one from the bank. Hire purchase Car loans stay with the car, so you cannot sell it until its fully paid off.
2 If they will not knock loads off for cash, go somewhere else that will.
3 Never let them keep you waiting. it's a tactic to get you to buy.
4 Never listen to the bullshit they give about the car, most of the cars are bought from car sales and not from a woman driver whos local! so check the log book!
5 Take someone with you. They will spot faults/scratches that wont see.
6 When you decide what car you want, go away and check it out on line. cooling off and comparing with other cars can make you see the car in a different light.
7 Buying a car is a sport, you have the money and you should make the salesman beg for your business!
8 Check the going price of the same type of car online. Garages love to put a few grand on. Private sale can save you a fortune.
9 Never rush in, do your homework. these peopole are very good with making you part with your cash. The 09 bmw for 5999 has usually been around the world or a ex-taxi in hull.
10 Piss the salesman off by forgetting to take your part exchange in with you! |

"if you are looking for a car most people would have an idea of what they are looking for "
Last time I bought a car I decided I didn't want another Mondeo, So after touring the ad's online, couldn't decide what I wanted. I went to various sales places, tried an Audi TT it was fun but not enough to overcome it's shortcomings, then tried a Jag, but it wasn't comfortable for me. so tried various others, showroom guy just showed me where the keys were and said try them all if you want. Took 8 different cars out for a drive and sat in many others before buying another bloody Mondeo, thing is the car sales guy was so patient and helpful I went back a month later and bought two Fiesta's for my kids. Plus I will probably buy my next one from him as well.
Good salesmen give the customer space and assistance as needed then they get the sale. |

So in the middle of this potential sale you pop on to Fab to tell us all they "will" buy the car today and not that they have bought the car and have left the building with the keys?
Just a wee thought - You might be getting distracted from your job of selling cars to potential customers by popping into Fab during your working hours? |

You don't negotiate on the price ever?
She may have said she had £6,500 but I would suspect she had a wee bit more in reserve.
Start the haggling low from her side, high from your side and meet in the middle somewhere and hey presto a car is sold! |

See my previous post? Are you the only salesman in the world who doesn;t understand the concept of bartering? You go in with your highest price, they go in with their lowest, you meet somewhere that is acceptable to you both...
Like I say she probably spent that cash elswhere today. You think she's an idiot and another garage got a sale? |

Welcome to the motor trade, and we thought we'd got rid of all the Neanderthals a long time ago. |

"yep car showroom and i am getting fed up just had young couple they not even got there car with them opened up 6 cars all in various price and size of car, what a waste of time "
So just out of interest, how are you supposed to decide which car to buy or would I be expected to buy the first one that I looked at ?
Sounds like a bloody strange car salesman who gets pissed off about people looking at his cars |

Unfortunately the motor trade does have it's fair share of idiots, con-men, Neanderthals and others, who shouldn't really be in a customer facing environment.
It's not all bad, so don't let one idiot put you off having a look and maybe, just maybe, deciding you'd like that Ford/Vauxhall/Toyota (delete where inapplicable) and trying for a deal. At the end of the day, a good deal is 100% psychological; if you think it's a good deal and the dealer thinks it's a good deal.....it's a good deal. Go for it! |

Translation: I haven't sold a thing today, no-ones agreeing with me so I'm taking my ball and going home. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I only ever have a general idea what I want to buy when I buy a car. I've never part exchanged my old car. I'm a timewaster.
Seriously, I would have thought allowing someone to have a good window shopping experience would mean that they would return for the final purchase? |

"i would call it good old window shopping. As long as your getting paid..its should be ok.
been doing this 25 years and todays customer s are deff not window shopping think it is just boredom, just had young girl and her dad in here test drive a ford fiesta which is up for £7995 she turns rounds and offered us £6500 as that is all she can afford, what idiots"
Well your place of work is somewhere i'll avoid. What a vile attitude. If I had spoken like this about my customers when working in retail I would've gotten the boot. Be thankful you got a job as loads of us are struggling to get work right now. |

Believe it or not, the motor trade is one of the heaviest regulated industries in our country, yet we still allow idiots to flourish in it. One bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch.........just avoid the aforementioned idiots. |

"Post away I don't care but calling potential customers time wasters is not a very professional thing to do, those customers could me members of Fabs and reading this right now"
I think you should change jobs!! They did not do anything wrong or out if place, well within their rights to go explore a potential buy.... |

This guy is either very inexperienced or just on a wind up.
Failure to qualify the prospect is a guarantee to end up in frustration and he has not even done that. Chapter 1 in the book of sales for beginners. |

This is your idea of fun...
Though as we established recently that every woman that comes in to your show room fancies you, I really fail to see how you could be bored! |

That's what anyone in their right mind would think.... Apart from someone who hates their job and make customers feel unwelcome :-/ |

"well i am sitting hear with 4 sales done myself with crap weather, and i have been bored so been messing with you all, which has been fun but now i am bored of this now"
Roughly translated = Hmmm, I think I've made a rod for my own back here, now how can I back pedal whilst retaining some credibility?
Scratches head and thinks for a minute, "I know, I'll pretend it was all a joke and I'm not a nasty rude car salesman after all - I'm a nice guy"
Yeah that oughta do it, the old, "I was only messing with you" routine |
