I am a huge music fan so for things like this I could have a different answer every time I'm asked. But Fleetwood Mac - Landslide (I also love the Dixie Chicks/Chicks version)

To go with Nicks I'd have add McVie's Songbird from just a year later.
I used to love Hazel by Bob Dylan.
The jazzy Memories by Material (check out the backing singer.)
Trying to think of my favourite Van. Have I told you lately? will likely end up on here, certainly a beautiful song. |

Ah, Christine Mcvie had a beautiful voice! I love the way she sings Songbird...confession time - I didn't realise it wasn't an Eva Cassidy original for a long time
Love your other suggestions

I really love the song “Book of love” by Peter Gabriel
Beautiful lyrics, I’ve sung this song to my 4 year old girl nearly every night of her life
So it holds special meaning in my life.
But she loves it too

LOVE this track, especially the version with the New Blood orchestra.
My contribution is so dreamlike. It reminds me of Alice in wonderland and the like ...

I love this post. I love listening to other people's music.
I have a few tracks that get to me. Into the Mystic Van Morrison, can't always listen to it though as I had that at my husbands funeral.
John Martyn Small hours
Gnossienne No1 Lent.
Linger Cranberries
Everybody hurts REM
I could go on and on there's so many.

Not entirely certain it classes as a song as such, but Last Post at the Menin Gate at Ypres, Belgium.
The Menin Gate was finished in 1922 (I think), and at 20:00 every evening since then, Last Post has been played (now by the trumpeters of the local Fire Service....I believe it was originally played by military buglers).
The only time it hasn't taken place, was during WW2 when occupied by German forces. On the day that the German forces retreated, it was played as they left the area. If you've never heard it, you really should....the acoustics within the arch are incredible, never fails to bring tears to eyes!
(the Menin Gate for those that don't know, is a memorial to the fallen in WW1 in that sector, who have no known grave.....50,000+, all recorded by name/rank and by regiment).
Tremendously moving performance(s), even more so if you're lucky enough to be there when visiting unit/British Legion (especially if pipe) bands perform as well. |

"Wow this post has lit up. I am going to go through and find everybody's fave and have a listen.
I absolutely love music of all kinds

I could have chosen lots more. I have a very wide and fairly eclectic taste in music. |

Some great tracks on here, I see Jim Croce has had a mention, love listening to him.
I could list loads but I’ll throw this one in.
Christy Moore - Gortatagort.
He has a beautifully smooth voice with that hint of melancholy that always chills me out. |

"I think the 'if I could be who you wanted all the time' part in fake plastic trees is the most beautiful moment in a song, but entire song, I'm not sure "
-Ani Difranco, used to love her stuff back then in the 90's. My mate used to play her albums on Napster on constant repeat (no luck for her I guess).
No love for 'Then' by Paisley then?

• Love and Affection - Joan Armatrading
I've always found this one strangely beautiful..
• Everyday is Like Sunday - Morrissey

‘Beautiful’ is a very particular vibe.
.
Blood of a Young Wolf - Buck 65
That song can genuinely move me to tears. It’s a feeling, not something descriptive.
.
Dein Lächeln verdreht Köpfe - Fiva & Das Phantom Orchester
Literally translates as ‘your smile turns heads’.
