Video is circulating in online newspapers of the buildup of an incident where a man was tasered and his two dogs literally shot dead and lifeless by armed police. Some reports say that the first dog was shot as it lunged at police and the second tried running away and was literally dragging the dead dog away as the leads were tangled. The fleeing dog appears to have been shot in the back by police whilst running away. This happened on the streets of London which Mayor Khan says are safe. What's going on here guys. It's all over the news...... |

"Why would they shoot them if they’re already dead?
Rule #2 DOUBLE TAP
Have you learned nothing from movies? "
I was too busy watching Emma Stone to pay attention to the rules.

I’d have to rewatch it. I still don’t think I’ve seen the second one. |

There was a time when they would just shoot them dead. Dead and lifeless is a shot too far, as well as a waste of ammunition that the public have to pay for.
Your report seems to have missed out the part about Plod were responding to a report of the dogs having mauled a woman and the owner being a complete dick, but whatever.. |

I don't know the background only the aftermath. So I won't comment. And no I don't love the police I don't have enough information |

Replay shows the man and his dogs.. could the feds have handled it better.. ?
The Americans have a device like a noose on a pole which captures the buggers without harming them. They could have been destroyed later |

You know how it is Tom, once these buggers taste blood there’s no going back.
Maybe they should have shot the owner instead. |

Dogs attack woman, police called, man aggressive, refuses to hand dogs over and sets them on police...
You expect police to be walking around with a lasso in their pockets and to be seriously injured or killed so you won't be offended at vicious dogs?
Have you been attacked by dogs or seen them ripping things apart. You certainly don't pet them or do a crocodile dundee.

Oh don’t ruin a good story. It’s much easier to police bash if you say they just shot some random guys dogs in the street!
I have watched the video, there is only one person to blame for the fate of the dogs and that is their owner. |

The device is not a lassoo. A lassoo is a piece of rope which is thrown by cowboy on a horse to catch cattle or a wild horse. The device that Tom is talking about is a long rigid pole with a noose on the end so that once caught the dog cannot bite you as long as the dog catcher holds onto the stick. It is probably called a 'dogcatcher' or something similar. An improved design probably means the pole is telescopic and easily carried in every police car or on his utility belt |

If the police used the tactical dogcatcher device as described then the dogs could have been safely and quietly taken away from prying eyes. There would not be members of the public filming and having jury by TV. Less upset for members witnessing dogs being gunned down in the streets. Let's not forget the cost of council workers called out on a bank holiday weekend to clean warm dogs blood of the streets.
This could of all been done quietly behind closed doors. Nothing to see here, just move along... |

"Tasering is a bit savage for simply tying a poo bag to a tree branch instead of putting it in the bin.
"
Don’t get me started on people who discard bags of dog mess into hedges.
They should be heavily fined and banned from keeping dogs |

Maybe. Presumably they risk assessed and decided the best course of action in those circumstances. Are you intimating that the dogs should not have been out down and that the police should have let them attack them or other members of the film crew? |
