Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I've joined late, I'll do the beginning at the end.
I was surprised Hugh Bonneville is hosting. He must have achieved almost national treasure status.
It's really lovely seeing the sunset sky. It reminds me of the Jubilee Concert last year outside Buckingham Palace, watching the light catch the Victoria Memorial.

"I don’t know this young ladies back story on the piano.
But yeah most talented person who has been on that stage tonight "
She was on the Ch4 programme, The Piano. Mika and Lang Lang chose her as the winner when she performed with them at the Royal Albert Hall. She is amazingly talented.
Watch the programme for the backstory, it's worth it. Her teacher is brilliant in what he does.

"Erm Lionel
I was just thinking the same!
I’m so confused. It sounds nothing like him "
He was much better than Diana Ross at the Jubilee Concert. I was so excited to get an invitation and be able to see her and she was terrible!
Lionel put on a show and got the crowd to cover for his deficits.

"The very beautiful piano playing of Alexis Ffrench
Having a great Sunday night "
I'm really liking this version of Don't You Forget About Me with the spectacular light show. It's amazing what they can do with drones! |

"Been amazing, but genuinely sad it isn't a 100% British line up, so much talent and yet it must have been the case they didn't want to perform. What does that tell us about our country?"
Or maybe they just chose some favourite acts of the Royal Family? The Princess of Wales looked particularly excited to see Katy Perry. |

That, even if there's anything in your assumption it's of no relevance to how the country is?
And most likely that those at the show will still have had a great time regardless.. |

Elton, Robbie, Adele, Styles and the Spice Girls.
What I think is that the reach is wider than just the UK talent pool.

I'm sure he did!
Just an observation, seems many of our popular culture stars don't want to be associated with the monarchy which I think is sad. The acts who have performed have been amazing. |

"Take That have brought someone on who can actually sing pretty well "
Callum Scott came on with Take That who happens to be a decent singer. I've never been a fan of Take That but felt Mark "whats his name" screeched through their set |

Well ED sheeran wasn't asked and due to his court case and touring could be a reason but he has said he will be watching on TV... I'm sure many weren't asked, not because they are snubbing it. I think the King wanted diversity and that is what he got. |

We could have had huge diversity with an all British cast, so many amazing British artists. An opportunity missed. Not to diminish the performances which were brilliant. |

Might have been a bit of a death knell for any British acts. Not very cool is it? And quite politically charged. |

Dude, it's a global celebration, was you not listening...the commonwealth covers a 1/4 of the world's population...and the three Americans who performed are all representatives for the kings charities...how on earth is having an "all British" line up representative to what the monarchy means globally!! |
