If it counts I presented a flower pot mug to a male friend who loves gardening;-) I think he enjoyed inscription- You're sexy and you mow it! 
It had a little spade as a spoon too. One day if it cracks a little can be recycled as a flower pot. I think he would appreciate flower gift but maybe not a cut one?

i have regular orders for flowers to be placed at places ive lost friends on the road.
every two weeks new flowers with messages of love from friends and family are laid at the scene.
someone had to do it, and as i loved them no one better than me |

I wouldn't, but mainly because I don't like cut flowers, so rarely give them to anyone as a gift. I also find flowers such a generic, thoughtless gift...I'd rather trawl round several different shops to find someone's favourite chocolates that nowhere seems to stock, or something similar that's more meaningful to them. |

Most come such a long way. Our roses mostly come from Kenya. There they cost pennies but shipping and preserving them for the journey makes them hugely expensive here  |

Absolutely, I would love to receive flowers!
As a society we’re getting better at breaking down stereotypes and this is one of them.
I like any surprise gifts because it tells me they were thinking about me and wanted to do something nice, just for me. That’s a lovely human trait. |

I don't see the issue with that though, roof top garden somewhere with a portion of chips and a dwarf for company, what's odd about that? |
