We hear a lot of opinions about how home brand products are just as good as the real thing... But are they really?

Are any home brands as good as fairy? Or mr muscle? Or hellmans?

Whats good whats bad?

Asda Tesco lids M and s biscuits are all the same biscuits for some things

Can confirm this as I have first had seen it

When I was younger I worked in a biscuit factory packing and the line wouldn’t stop

Only thing that got changed was the wrappers and boxes

I don’t think any own label brands are quite as good as the real thing - but for a significant price difference (especially at the moment when we are all feeling the pinch) I’m happy to go own label for a lot of stuff.

*obviously paracetamol own label is exactly the same as it has to be!

Most of the home brand products are made by the same manufacturer as the brand products. I think most things taste the same/ fuction the same.

Some of lidls own brands are good quality..... Washing up liquid, quiche, bakery items, shampoo and conditioner, fish pie etc but fresh veg crap doesn't last two minutes

We use a lot of home brands but there are some things that are better - we haven’t found nicer than dolmio lasagne sauces tbh

It's all about marketing.

The bigger brands ads will lead us to believe that their products are better.

It gets into your mind so you believe that theirs is the best.

In reality, they are all pretty much the same.
