nightmare aint it .. meant to be flying later tonight but not sure that the airport is even open. There website seems to have gone down as well which is a great help ! Hope you have a nice birthday regardless of the weather. |

Took me 9 hours to drive from Carlisle to Woking cos of snow ! Two crashed ploughs and people driving at 5 mph if you go out allow 10 x the usual time
I got home at 4am thanks snow  |

Out here in Austria, there are tons of snow, literally and people live with it on a daily basis, at least through the winter month. They would nt survive without being prepared for it... but then they experience this weather all the time.
When I recently asked who of the forumites would invest in buying proper winter tyres (I always have done) most people said they would not for the few days a year that they were required... |

because we dont have the infrastructure, road networks, mentality to deal with it. if we lived somewhere that got heavy snow more often and for longer we would do better |
