Was just at the vets with my dog and ushered in to see the nurse.
I recognised her and she said "I know you from somewhere", to which I said "Oh Fab?" She looked perplexed, said her name and then it clicked that she is the daughter of someone I have not seen for for 23 years. So that makes her (the nurse) early 40s.
I am assuming that she has taken the reference to 'Fab' as being me pleased to see her again - no other explanation was called for.
I am sure others have had far worse than that, if so... |

Dating site, someone worked out that I have a profile here, but waited until we met in person before mentioning. It came across weird, plus he didn’t keep his voice down and it felt like he was doing it to embarrass me/get a reaction from people around us. I explained I felt he could’ve mentioned it earlier, downed my drink and fecked right off out of there |

Nobody has ever mentioned it in public and even if I did recognise someone, which I have, I wouldn't mention it either.
If I met someone and started chatting in public then I would mention I was on here if it were appropriate. |

Why do people do that? We met a guy once who kept talking about spanking in great detail in a really loud voice and another who was very giggly about nudity and made very immature comments really loudly, both in pubs. |

They were both driving and had soft drinks, they were just indiscreet |

As I've said before in the forums....I changed dentist practices a few years ago and my new dentist (female) just blurted out...."I think we know each other".
We did, having met at an after party following a fetish event in Plymouth.
It wasn't at all as awkward as I thought it could have been, she has since asked me if I was still on the fetish scene when her assistant was out of the room, but apart from that it's not something that's been brought up again during my visits to the practice.

Had a meet many years ago as a single guy with a couple at their local Indian restaurant with tables pretty much crammed in and people they knew there they acknowledged by name and smiles. They chatted at an indiscreet volume about how I'd like to fuck her etc etc. Took me quite by surprise really. I was admonished on my return for not being the chatty and expressive person that I sold myself as in the chatrooms |

Good on you. What a toad and what a stupid thing to do if he was hoping for a meaningful date (or more given the Fab connection). His loss |

Well she was discreet which was good. Might have had an interesting reaction if she had said it when she was actually dealing with your teeth and you could not reply - I would go red with the fear that she might say something further whilst I was incapacitated |

Were you easily recognisable at the time - in some of your photos your hair colour is quite distinctive (generally I am hopeless at recognising people and flounder around for a while whilst I try and work out where I have seen them before). |

MADERIA Wherever I lay my hat |
I had a second meet with a local guy one Sunday. Next day I'm in my spin class adjusting my bike. Look up and he's opposite me. The most embarrassing thing was when I looked in the mirror afterwards... My face was purple and the sweat was pouring off me from the unprecedented amount of effort I put in trying to look effortlessly fit and failing miserably |

was walking home from the shop and this guy kept staring and following me at a little distance.....I'm generally paranoid from previous stalker experiences so yes I notice this kind of stuff....I did a walk around and ducked into another corner shop ....when I peeped out didn't see him so dashed out home.
Got a message on Fab later that day from a guy saying he swore he say me but lost me when I went over the road crossing ! (same crossing I dashed across to duck into shop)...
...I blocked him. |

That is creepy and it would make me nervous about the possibility of him lurking in the area in the future (though hopefully the blocking made clear to him that even if it was you he saw that you were not interested).
Stay safe. |

That’s creepy …
Don’t see the point to approach someone on fabs if u see her on road n recognise her .
Is just a neighbour like anyone else .
I would probably feel hot n anxious .
But would never approach , not with out consent or connection first . Is just a stranger . U see online regularly - is a neighbour . A sim neighbour .
Respect . Specially if the person is with company
U don’t know if is a daughter , or a job interview or a mother , anyway . I doubt the person will be interested in involuntarily share her personal life story .
Or even being approached …
And u can ruin someone’s life being naive or innocent .
“ Oh hi , is me , Roger from fabs … I know the thread about peanut Brian’s ? Yeah that’s me “
If a distant contact like a eyes crossed and the person waves u and asks u approach , maybe
Maybe u don’t want her to wave and reveal there’s a link
Cause your cause your daughter mates are buying drinks n u don’t want the gossip to pop out

There are loads of fabbers on dating apps around here.
I’ve recognised my bosses secretary, my ex and my cousin and his girlfriend on here and have blocked all of them rapidly.
One of my contractors keeps bring up swinging so I suspect he’s recognised me from here but is polite enough to not outright say it. |

On a more serious note, just don’t.
Even if you believe you and the other person are out earshot, alone, whatever, just don’t.
Say nothing, maybe just a wry smile, move on. Be cool about it.
I’ve a Fab friend who was stopped in a busy Tesco’s and asked a ‘do I know you from Fabswingers ’ her kids came up behind him. “Who was that man you were talking to Mummy? What’s Fabswingers ?”
Don’t be a dick, just don’t |

"Good luck to anyone that can recognise me in real life!
Can't be that hard to spot the grumpiest woman in England surely?
I have the best RBF ever. People cross the road to get away from me."

Years ago I met a Fab friend in Tesco's car park when I had my young son with me - we both did a double take and scurried by. Also med another Fabster in Waitrose, I think we discussed fish (not a euphemism). |

I often get people thinking i'm someone they know for some reason.
A man asked if I was jackie from the arcade lol ,I've had a bloke think i was a teacher he used to work with & someone else adament theyd met me .
I don't know what it is as i don't have a face pic public.
I often get it in real life too ,I mean that people find me familiar. |

Have had it the other way round a couple of times where we've bumped into people from normal life at a swingers club. All (ourselves included) have abided by the swinger's code and not mentioned anything about swinging in normal life. It's added a fun element knowing 'I know that you know...' |

This absolutely terrifies bad birch and is the reason that we haven't risked local venues so far |

It's been said that drink brings out "the real you" - and that obviously showed him for his emotional and sexual immaturity. |
