I usually order the same thing.
A steak with all the trimmings + peppercorn sauce. It's the one thing I don't cook at home, I can never get it as nice as the restaurants do.
Do you repeat order or try new things

I'm very much a let's try something new type, I'll scan for something that I've never had before. Sometimes it's glorious but other times it fails miserably. It's a fun ride either way.
If there's nothing new the next choice would be chefs special or ask for a recommendation.

Normally it's whatever I like the look of, always ask what the specials are and tend to go for something I wouldn't normally eat at home (I mean what's the point?) |

"As I don't eat meat, it's going to be one of whatever is offered between fish and vegetarian. Tends to be limited in these parts"
Veggie food is still surprisingly scarce in mainstream restaurants. It’s usually something out of the freezer. |

We have "go to" restaurants for particular dishes we enjoy, but we've stopped going to most city centre places, especially London. The general city centre vibe seems to have changed in the last 5 years or so and we'd rather eat in a relaxed environment than a war zone |

"Depends on the place, the company, the time of day, the occasion ... etc
Love eating out with awesome company topped with great food! "
This...plus my mood at that particular time.
I do like to try new things though, and thankfully have a knack for choosing nice stuff. Himself gets food and drink envy quite a lot, but he does tend to order things that he's had before and knows he likes |

I don't order the same thing all the time. But I do have fish more often than not when out, for the same reason as OP, I'm not very good at cooking it at home. |

""The Golden Boy ”, made with 100% Wagyu meat, beluga caviar, king crab, spanish paleta iberico, white truffle and english cheddar. or a chip butty. "
This "Golden Boy" you speak of sounds more like a crime scene than a meal. Those other flavours would overpower a good cut of Wagyu. |

It's the word's most expensive burger apparently. Never had it as not found anyone to pay for it yet. Had plenty of chip butties though |

Stourport-On-Severn |
As a rule i very rarely eat the same meal because i love trying different places to eat. But if i have favourite it has to be shellfish of some type. It could be Lobster, Crab, Langoustine or Muscles. But unless they are cooked in some way i have not tried before then i'm more likely to go to Lamb or Beef. |

a big English fried breakfast.
Decent burger and chips
Roast dinner (on a Sunday, and I don’t mean a rubbish carvery . Local pub does a wicked home style roasty)
