The day I met my partner. He was running later than he thought because it took longer to get to me from the airport than expected... and he took a wrong turn a couple of times because I live in the boonies.
I was so nervous that I almost ran away to a friend in Manchester.

Holy shit did she look good. Rocking the fmbs. Like a rabbit in the headlights. She just giggled slid her fingers down my arm, I felt hooked instantly.
Got in the car, she just grabbed my CD's blazed up and said. Artful Dodger I love it - stuck it the stereo as we were getting on the motorway. And then said 'how fast can it go.' Waited what seemed like ages to meet them, fully kitted out in my best gear. Exchanged pleasantries and then boom it was happening!
Took a couple of pictures during meet.
Discovered later in day burnt my forehead in the sun while I waited to meet them.
Even so, Graeme Souness didn't sign autographs everyday of the year in a local toystore. Bought some Subbuteo and went home. Memories... |

They have all been memorable over the years in their own ways.
I genuinely believe that everyone I've ever met was memorable in some way.
Sometimes it's because of timing, a place or a connection. Sometimes it's because of what we did and sometimes they just completely sweep you off your feet when you don't expect it.

2 spring to mind instantly due the nervous energy building up to a boiling point beforhand. 1 was my 1st experience of meeting someone for the 1st time in person as they opened their front door. Where I harnessed that nervous energy, and after the initial shaky hands we spent a wonderful afternoon/evening really getting to know each other.
The other was the best decision of where to go for a 1st meet, and although it went very well, I can't help but think I let the nerves get the better of me, and fumbled a few moments which could have made it so much better, but that's life as Marion Montgomery once sang.

My most memorable meet was memorable because it was a disaster in a funny kind of way.
It was with a long term gentleman friend and we decided we where going to have some outdoor fun. So he picks me up and off we go.
When he pulled up and I opened the car door to get out I stepped into three foot of stinging nettles. Ouch. Then we found a nice spot by the side of the hedge and where just getting down to it when some dog walkers came along the other side of the hedge. He told me to be quite but all I could do was giggle.
When they went we got down to business, me naked doing doggy when a low flying aircraft came over. Me naked with my arse in the air
After it had gone we finished. He went off for a pee and I tried to get up and fell flat over on my face and couldn't get up.
Anyway when we got in the car I just looked at him and said never a fucking gain. It was like something out of a carry on film |
