Not everyone has the luxury of a large garden in which to grow their own vegetables.....Or enough land to have their own poultry and cattle. |

You don't need a large garden, it's amazing what you can grow in a small amount of space. Even if its just a few things you'll be surprised how much nicer it tastes and cheaper too! |

I dread to think about what we've really been eating! Over time we've gradualy moved away from growing our own bits & pieces. We've gradualy changed the way we viewed our gardens (if we had one). In the same way we've all gradualy given up our fireplaces & chimneys too. The end result if that we've all become far too dependent on Supermarkets & energy suppliers. Did we adopt the option of the ease of Supermarket food because of the pace modern life & time demands or is it lazyness? A topic for discussion on another day I guess. |

Am i alone in thinking the traces yes thats it traces of horsemeat has been blown out of proportion.
Its not ideal but the food is edible. So rather than it all be thrown away re label so folk know there is possible horse meat in them and give to charities that deal with less fortunate than others including food banks. |

I would be more worried about the chemicals you wash with / hair sprays perfumes ect
then think about what you clothes are washed in (organo phosphates)
all these thing are in dircet contact with your skin for a long period
on the food front
buy from local butchers watch him cut it up
local green grocers ext
dont belaive all you read about organics if you are worried about human waste used for fertilisers
by the way
i had some tesco burgers and i can now run faster than i did befor but i refuse to jump over the garden fence so they must have been flat race horses.. |

I grow all my herbs on window sill, veg in pots, salad can be done in a clean piece of guttering. It doesn't need much space at all. I didn't buy anything veg/salad wise over summer. That was just grown in a patio |

Do you know how much food was adulterated in the past? At least we have legal protections now. |

Unless you grow your own or breed your own or know exactly where any food you eat is from its all unsafe in someway. In the South Pacific islands for centuries they ate fresh grown fruit, veg and seafood but now they have the highest diabetes rates in the world thanks to the introduction of all the shit we eat and export to them. |

Manufacturers are not obliged to say exactly what is put in the food and some of the ingredients are shocking
a lot of the weightwatchers meals contain what is basically wallpaper paste which swells in the stomach making you feel fuller horsemeat is probably one of the better ingredients of the burger and to be honest a cow is also an animal so why is it so different eating one and not the other? leaving out the not knowing about it bit |

If it looks, tastes and smells ok, I would eat it.
When I cook for other people I would buy fresh ingredients.
However, for myself, I don't pay much notice to expiry dates.
The worst is a bad case of DA which lasted nearly a day, which involved smoked salmon that was 6 months out of date.

I don't worry too much about what I eat, where it comes from, how it died etc. Were all still alive so what people have eaten haven't killed us yet. When you hear what some people eat (On I'm a celebrity) perfect example as there all delicacies apparently lol. they taste disgusting but safe to eat. I think if we worried about whats safe and not safe. What's actually in our meals we buy we would all starve to death. My motto is. Food is food no matter where it comes from so I eat it without too much thought. |
