Back when I was at art school, a lot of old rastas lived on my street. Your actual Windrush generation Jamaican immigrants. When the dry summer weekends came around they would all be outside, standing in front of their open front doors and open windows, smoking big fat joints. The big, dirty bass sound of dub reggae mixing in the air from each house all at once. The volume was high, the old geezers were higher. And that memory makes me happy.
