Is our lifestyle facing a new challenge

We are seeing a trend building

Like us we cannot accommodate due to adult children living at home due to

rising house prices

rising interest rates

and the inability afford to leave home

Do I fit into the adult child age range?

.

Possibly. But... there are clubs. And hotel rooms can be really cheap.

If that fails, bit of al fresconoon delights is a joy.

Carlisle usually

I've found that not having kids means that one isn't an issue for me

My partners who are parents only have young kids that would still be at home anyway.

But I can see how it could be a problem for many.

I would never have a guy in my house and I'd never go to a guys house. So it's not a problem for me!

I've always been a hotel fan for more casual things, I guess gets expensive with regularity.

But yeah living situations definitely becoming an issue.

My ex moved in with 2 of her friends, so their place is off limits unless the other 2 are away for the evening, this is almost becoming a standard now too.

No they are just lazy and like being looked after. What’s wrong with renting a room in shared house like youngsters used to do ? They would rather live at home with new cars on lease and be drinking cocktails all weekend !

I have an adult child at home - no new car, no cocktails for them or me. Not sure which universe you're inhabiting.

I left home at 19. Oddly enough, so did both of my children…

Our last 2 clubbing nights cost us £80 & £100 quid each. Patrol, car park, entrance, drinks and kebab on way home. Not a cheap hobby. Those were fairly local clubs to us. One is 1hour 20 mins drive. A club including a hotel, we're need a mortgage for.

Socials and Hotels maybe the new norm perhaps.

We're there for the filth not scenary so basics hotel wise are the order of the day, so Travelodge is first option.

My local Travelodge with free parking, and a beefeater pub attached, is £38 (fully refundable up to noon on day of arrival) for most sat-sun/sun-mon stays.

The pub opens at 8am for breaky, so meet for a coffee at 10:30-11am, you have a hour or do to see if you click.

I should add I haven't tried this just thinking out loud.

Travelodge maybe about to become swinger central hahah.
