There is a worm that bores into the bones in whale carcasses, to reach the lipids that they rely on for sustenance. It’s called a bone eating snot flower.
They have no mouths or stomachs but have feathery plumes that absorb the nutrients.
Each female worm has between 50 and 100 dwarf males living inside of her

It used to be the case, in England, that court cases could be decided by fighting the judge. This practice fell into disuse in (if memory serves) the 11th or 12th century. Centuries later someone tried to fight the judge and the practice was hastily outlawed.
However, it was never explicitly banned in Scotland - so someone tried to fight the judge in Scotland in 1985. |
