Some people call it a settee or even a sofa but what do you call it.

Have a great day all.

In the days of a settee in two armchairs being the standard arrangement it was known as a three piece suite.

A suite of furniture.

God, I’ve become your Grandad. That’s it, I’m done.

I nearly bought a house that came with a 30ft waterfall in the garden. Imagine if I’d done it. I’d have had people queueing up to come and take a selfie for their profile.

I don't.

I go in to the room where the thing is, and sit down on the thing.

I don't announce to guests or the missus "I am going to go and sit down on the sofa". I just say "Have a seat if you wish" or "I am going to sit down". Or if unannounced, I just sit down.

After all, I don't say, "I am making a drink. With the kettle. Would you like one ?" I say "Would you like a tea ?"

The thing we sit on may have a noun, but we just do not use it. If that makes sense ?
