"Couch but my grandad calls it a suite
Can't say I've heard suite before "
I’ve never heard anyone else call it that either. God knows where it comes from |

It's usually what shops call more than one piece of matching sofas or combo of chair and sofa |

In the days of a settee in two armchairs being the standard arrangement it was known as a three piece suite.
A suite of furniture.
God, I’ve become your Grandad. That’s it, I’m done. |

It's a bit like 3 piece suit but for lounge furniture I guess |

"I'm definitely not leaving that open to a pole for the ladies because they're way pervy "
It’s okay, we’re safe. The pervettes won’t be looking at a thread about sofas.
I mean couches.
I mean suites. |

Not to be confused with a three-piece suit.
We both think the same, scary isn't it "
That would be a lounge suit then? |

I don't think I'd want to wear my sofa as a suit |

Everyone will be thinking I have my own waterfall soon and want to get naked and stuff under it when it's hot |

I nearly bought a house that came with a 30ft waterfall in the garden. Imagine if I’d done it. I’d have had people queueing up to come and take a selfie for their profile. |

I've just claimed a local one for myself by shagging under it |

Apparently he's marked it as his territory and defends it day and night. |

I don't.
I go in to the room where the thing is, and sit down on the thing.
I don't announce to guests or the missus "I am going to go and sit down on the sofa". I just say "Have a seat if you wish" or "I am going to sit down". Or if unannounced, I just sit down.
After all, I don't say, "I am making a drink. With the kettle. Would you like one ?" I say "Would you like a tea ?"
The thing we sit on may have a noun, but we just do not use it. If that makes sense ? |
