No idea what the obsession is! We all like getting some fabs but people are practically begging for them to get to page 1 
Much rather get some winks or messages off people than have our pics/vids on page 1  |

Meh.
Some people need the affirmation. From the "fab to fuck" to the constant status updates when they upload a new pic.
If it makes them feel good then they can crack on.

Why is it desperation OP?
Maybe they get turned in knowing that people actually want them. Or maybe, they suffer from low self esteem or have done in the past. It could be that they actually like people perving over their photos and it is a way of getting more eyeballs on their photos. Maybe they might actually like it and it’s not desperation after all.

Getting to page 1 gets your profile more visibility and ups your chances of finding people you want to get to know and get naked with.
I can't think of any other way on fab to get more visibility in one way.
If you're going to put yourself out there you might as well use all the avenues available on fab. That's what they are there for. To get you seen.
Doesn't matter of you think you're hot or not, you just want people to see your profile.
Well I do anyway. And if I end up looking like an attention seeking whore in the process so be it. I want to find people and the list of profiles that fab you can be a good place to browse.
That said I've never asked for fabs on a pic like you've given examples of.

We put some effort into our pictures. We enjoy doing it, and love the comments that we receive, and the fabs. If I post a picture up and it gets more fabs, i know people like that picture and it encourages us to take more.
Fabs wouldn't be the same without pictures. We always fab the pictures we like, and i can see people have made an effort.
Keep posting up the pictures, and if it makes you happy, promote them. It's all about self expression, never about suppression xxx |

Some people crave attention as a confidence boost, id rather they did it naturally instead of offering false promises if they are going to do it , my personal opinion is hide as I don’t like too much attention |

It's nice.
I'm a pretty plain guy in my day to day life.
But if I have a picture that get's a lot of fabs I feel attractive, wanted and sexy. I don't feel these things very often.
It's a bit of a confidence boost for me.
Chasing fabs and literally asking for them does seem a bit desperate though... but it does seem to work quite well.
If that's what people want to do then let them do it, it doesn't harm anyone. |

Dopamine and equating 'fabs' to feelings of self worth. It's the social media curse of needing to be validated by strangers in order to bump-up their self esteem.
It's a shallow and ultimately unhealthy approach to self worth, based on a hollow notion that somehow strangers validating the way you look, or appearing to be sexually attractive in order feel popular and wanted will make you feel good about yourself.
There's also a concept known as 'candaulism' that I'm guessing many people have never heard of, which also applies heavily on sites like this. Candaulism is a paraphilic sexual practice or fantasy in which one person exposes their partner, or images of their partner, to other people for their voyeuristic pleasure.
That definitely also applies to a lot of people on here.

I concur - it's heavily influenced by the timing of the photo post, and whether it's a face pic.
People love face pics because they're turned on by intimacy. A large amount of the fabbers/blokes on here, are probably all quite lonely and ultimately want connection. They just don't realise it, and think they want sex.

Not read the whole thread yet, but I suppose that once you get on page 1, you are more likely to get there again,
Since unless you pay to upgrade, you can't get past page 1.
Those profiles are likely to get hotlisted, and subsequent pictures get high amount of fabs again?
For some its about ego, for a few, commerce. |

I've no idea. Years ago I got to page 3. I only know because someone told me. I found it amusing to be a page 3 girl for the day.

I got to page 4 once and that was quite enough
When I had public pictures I found it interesting which photos would do "well" and when. (Well meaning over a certain number in a day, not necessarily in the first few pages) |

My photographic skills are terrible so ultimately this will never truly be any of business!

I think people need to remember it's page 1 on a swinging/sex site....
Yeah people may do it to get more people viewing their profile.
Then just wait for the complaining about all the messages/abuse. Ironic.
Also, I'm not sure people realise (or maybe they just don't care) that when they post certain pictures out there to try and get to page 1, those pictures are no longer yours. They're out there for everyone to see. And people don't hide their identity aswell as they think. Well especially not when it's a face pic!
Basically I couldn't care less.

I really don’t know how the women who are on there constantly manage their inboxes, if i post a picture and it starts doing well, it’s like you have to brace yourself for the onslaught.
That said, i find it funny when I’m getting fabs for being “sexy,” and the reality is I’m in tesco in my trackies. |

I see this kind of thing regularly, usually by the same people. If it's what makes them happy then fair play to them.
I'm more or less positive though that not everyone of the 3682 people who fab it actually get a fuck, but I could be wrong. |

It doesn’t have to be desperation, that might be their goal and they are using all the tools available to achieve that. Adding ‘fab this for…’ might be the difference between getting to page one or page two and it’s really easy to do! Each to their own  |

Ultimately fab and other sites are visual marketing tools to promote and/or to make connections with like minded people.
Because some people have got basic marketing 101 skills it doesn’t mean that they can’t market themselves in a way that they enjoy.
Life is too short to focus on what other people are doing that you wouldn’t

I never thought about it as "mood", more "people who look at me like X more than Y".
But maybe it is almost "fashion".

Each to their own i guess, asking for fabs wouldnt be for us, but we love putting pics out their and it is a high when one of them gets a lot of fabs, for someone getting to that point where they are on page 1 could be the wee ego boost someone or a couple could need to make another step on their journey, let them work away imho. |

people keep forgetting that many are OF content creators as well and well lets be honest is a free marketing resource , ..
for a chunk of those its not about stroking an ego or anything it is simply a byproduct of a business to generate new traffic ...
I see so many of these hot pics (yes I have been on page 1 and in hot spot multiple times , I am trans as well lol ) ) and so many are on twitter with similar handle names promoting xyz content ...
The caption pics is just something alot of us do on twitter to drive traffic on other platforms /engagment etc for some reason guys do seem to engage with pics that have silly captions .. especially if its a meme ..
Equally there is going to be some peeps that are just wanting some tributing/liking to feel nice and sexy .. as well been said once you are on page 1 its very hard not to blow up for that 12/24 hour period . its a self feeding cycle ..
