"I've just taken apart my pipes under the sink to the washing machine
I need a clothes peg, disinfectant, air freshner and cake STAT
"
Its rank isn't it. I emptied my filter the other day. Did not want that gunk hanging around in the air for too long |

"You're supposed to clean them out every year. We discovered that when we replaced our last washing machine. I don't think the word gross covers the brown sludge we discovered "

The plastic pipes are relatively easy to work on.
It is the copper plumbing I shy away from.
i need to change the sink mixer unit because the valve seatings are beyond redemption and are also an Italian size no longer replaceable. Would be easy if the installation had predated the widespread use of isolation valves, so part of my summer project will be installing some of those.
Before that, the small matter of unseizing the relevant gate valves in the loft.
Nothing is ever simple.
I sometimes envy the people I know who merely have to phone the council and someone comes and does it. |

Wherever I lay my hat |

Why would you do that
Serious answer, my plug kept popping out when the machine filled up to start the wash"
I had a similar problem recently.... Tho it wasn't the washing machine that caused it |
