The French president and his government need not have been granted decree powers under 49-3 in the French constitution if the French people haven't proven themselves absolutely unruly to any new government policy they don't like and ungovernable to the extreme.
That's the flip side of "being good at protesting". And by that I mean "good at physical protesting and obstructionism". It gives perfect ammunition for the ruling elites to resort to authoritarianism. |
