Do you think people make assumptions about someone based on their sexual preferences? Is there a sort of Sex Class System? Do tops view bottoms as inferior. Do straight guys think are above bi guys. Do alpha males view women as below them. Not sure I am expressing this well but reading some profiles, and even some forum responses, I feel that there might be certain assumptions made about people depending on their sexual preferences rather than other things. Personally that's not what I would base any opinion I may have of a person but seems a fair few do. What do you think? |

Some tops think bottoms are inferior.
Some straight guys think they're superior to bi guys.
Some alpha males think they're superior to women.
Also some bottoms think they're on top, some bi guys look down on straight guys, some (I think most) women look down on men who think of themselves as alphas.
Personally, as a bottom, I play with people I consider equals, and don't see what anyone's sexual preferences matter beyond defining compatibility in that area. |

"I thought this was gonna be about sofas!"
I was getting ready to tell people how to get independent furniture inspections and take sofa companies to court!
Never heard of a sex class system. Will read the replies with interest. |

"Definitely. There are certain preferences that people find it acceptable to look down on, he rude about and make assumptions about the people expressing them"
Yes, that's what I thought and rather interesting as had never thought about it before |

There's a kind of base level that the majority subscribe to and outside of that tacit disapproval is applied. The phrase 'each to their own but' is used a lot. |

Some people make assumptions about anything and everything.
Some people naturally have a superiority complex and equally some people have massive insecurity issues that manifest themselves in angst, rage and aggression.
I've always stood by the notion everyone is equal. There's no pecking order. No league tables and no cliques.
Others of course disagree.
Some would argue black is white and down is up.

I think it depends on the person doesn't it, I've never judged anyone or thought they were 'beneath' me because if Thier tastes, preferences or kinks, just as I've never felt anyone is 'above me' for the same reasons
Anyone who thinks they are better or more above than someone else because of thier sexual preferences....
Is clearly just a massive twat. |

It certainly shouldn't but you are probably right that it does and that 'macho' attitude is often apparent even on here whether overt or covert. Those people though are not really worth to bother with. They probably harbour far worse prejudices and a lot of their own insecurities |

"Am I the only one who’s completely confused by the fact this isn’t about sofas? "
Well, I read the post and did not confuse me but can see the acronym on the title may have done that for you though the post itself is perfectly clear |
