"Although again as I think with everything in life, can we really say what we’d do until we’re in a situation? I honestly think not.
No, we can't. I've seen that in action, people freeze."
They do. And also if it was your child the red mist can appear. I honestly don’t think I’d know what I’d do in some situations. Would I jump in the Niagara falls to try and save them. Yeah probably. Even though there’s not a chance. |

I remember some years ago a young woman was attacked by a man with a machete, t was in a public place with onlookers. The only person who helped her was a woman who dragged her away by her feet. |

"Under what circumstances would you physically hurt someone? "
For me, I imagine it would be self defense or someone hitting one of my kids regardless of them now being adults.
I say imagine, as we may be surprised as to how we react, I may freeze on the aoot or i nay retaliate.
However, one has to take on board, we are all capable of murder in such situations regardless of how we would normally react. |

During consentual BDSM, very easily, and will do happily.
During security work. Yes, if required, and causing the minimum level of pain required to deal with the situation. ( Though this is rare)
Frequently growing up, fighting with my brothers.
These days, if someone was hurting family, friends or myself, then I don't think I'd have issues hurting them physically. But unless faced with it in the moment, I could never be sure what I would do.

Self defence, hurting or the threat of hurting my kids or loved ones. Luckily it’s been nearly 10 years since being in a physical confrontation of any kind and hoping to keep it that way |

Never would.
I'm happy to be able to restrain most people safely and competently. If you hurt someone and you awaken their already high fight or flight, then it can only escalate into much worse. I prefer to immobilise and talk my way out of it |

"If someone was to hurt me my pets or those that I have close to me.
Any other time everything can be resolved with a nice long conversation
And a cuppa"
Don't forget the custard creams and Jaffa cakes too |

Self defence, I'm not ever going to go down without a fight.
If anyone ever intentionally hurt any of my dogs the red mist would descend.
Helping other humans, it very much depends on the situation. |

If anyone tries to dip their grubby little fingers in my food when they have their own, they’re getting a karate chop to the throat.
In all seriousness though, only if I felt like me or my kids were in danger. |

I'm not a violent person and I believe love is the Law. However although love is my creed I am not a pacifist. I know from experience it is perfectly in me hurt another human and I have long square away that with my own ethics regarding the use of violence. Both in relation to everyday life and within the context of my previous career. Luckily now in terms of everyday life in the UK there is very little need for this due to rule of law and the State monopoly on the issue of and use of lethal violence (which is not the case in so many other parts of the world). Most everday situations in this country violence can be avoided with a cool head and sensible strategy. I wish never to do harm to any human, it is not in my nature. However the world can be a horrible place and there are time when we must protect and stand on what is right for the very sake of the love of humanity it's self and common human values. I suppose the defence of Ukraine being a valid example right now.
