could see the point if that rear 'ass dividing' section was thicker, maybe curved slightly to the front and possibly vibrated a little

What idiot dreamt those things up? It must have been a woman because no man would design something that would be placed tight up against a man's sphincter. Men fart all day you know, and if he was wearing one of those things during a particularly violent rip out he'd end up castrating himself!
