"Mine is unapologetically Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden "
Nothing compares - Sinead O'connor and loads of P Floyd songs especially the openings to them. And of course the Welsh National Anthem ! |

This might seem rather odd, but when Frozen first came out, I took my kids to see it and I have to admit that first time when I heard 'Let it go', I was blown away by it.
If you take it as a song all on it's own, the lyrics and the way it is sung are quite powerful. It's a really great song |

I’m obviously biased but have you heard Chris Cornell’s version? |

Never fails, that one. I remember seeing Cornell play it solo, acoustic, on a huge stage to a crowd of 2,500-ish. Blackout, just the one spotlight on him.
You could hear a pin drop. The crowd was silent. Rapt.
Half the audience was in tears by the end. |

Robbie Williams "Angel" as it reminds me of a very special woman in my life who really was my angel, friend, and non biological mother (real mother in my heart).
She is in heaven now and was an angel on earth when she was alive.
If I hear this song, I feel goosebumps and it often brings a tear in my eye. |

As I read this, I am in the middle of a chat with my tattoo artist, discussing the final design of my special CC tattoo. And I suddenly know what I want him to add (thank you) |

"Ooh there's a few. The first that springs to mind is...
Yes by McAlmont & Butler
J"
I'm going to have to think about this, Dee. I immediately went to songs that made me sad (many), but goosebumps doesn't necessarily mean sad, does it.
But while I do that over-thinking, I will just say that I LOVE this song, J! |

I used to constantly rehearse that track, I a band I was in when I was young, probably when I was around 19. So I think I've "overheard " it, if you know what i mean..
One track that never fails to give goosebumps is by a singer/songwriter called dallas green.
If you type "city and colour - day old hate" on youtube, that track will come up.
I think dallas green is a spectacular singer and guitarist. |

Bunny West’s cover of Run to the Hills.
Glycerine - Bush
Small Town Hypocrite - Caylee Hammack
Not Alone - The Indelicates
High - Caitlyn Smith
I could list these all day. Songs that give me goosebumps are what I live for. Those, and kisses that do the same. |

You can’t “overheard” Black Hole Sun, it’s impossible
I’ll look up the other track, sounds interesting. |

All the above make me cry, so maybe I've given the wrong answer! |

Music is so emotive. It transports us to places, people, moments. It's so powerful and my reactions change depending on what's going on at the time.
There are 2 songs that always get me though.
November Rain by Guns and Roses.
Full version please always.
The Show Must Go On by Queen. I think we are all performing at times.

Also from that album, 'You Do'.
Never fails.
And Radiohead's How To Disappear Completely. That bit where the song breaks down and the strings come back in. If you haven't heard it before, I urge you to go listen to it now. |

"Brothers in arms, Dire straights."
Written during the Falklands War in 1982, although not released until 1985 (on the album of the same name), used a lot at military/ex military funerals....very evocative of the time it was written. New studio version recorded on the 25th anniversary of the Falklands in 2007 to raise funds for Falklands veterans.
Does anyone recall the TV series about ex soldiers it was used as the title song for..... I think it was "Civvies"? |

Samuel Barber - Adagio for Strings Op 11
The most emotive piece of music for me though is Band of Horses - The Funeral.
I can very rarely listen to it and have to leave wherever it is I am if I even hear the intro. |

When Nessun Dorma is sung really well. Too many ‘popped’ arrangements these days, but when it’s done with a full orchestra and a bona fide tenor.
Also, symphony of sorrowful songs. The lyrics are sobering. |

Just a few I have listened to recently that make me listen to every note, and they move me.
Others can bring me to tears. |

"Allegre Miserere Mei Deus. (The Sixteen and Harry Christophers version)
Allegri Miserere is beautiful. I prefer a version with trebles in it but The Sixteen version is great."
There are trebles in the Sixteen Version -- unless they have more than one, of course. |
