seriously do people think these are good idea? just been winked by a couple, so winked and sent a message saying hi! and then got a load of abuse back for not using their password which is there 'to filter w*****s like me'
now i appreciate that some say hi whatever... but surely in the this world saying a cheeky hiya is not exactly eating someones children!
the number of people on here who clearly act differently than their profiles (straight people clearly being bi, couples saying no men, but all they meet is men, meets looking for guys, but then block guys etc etc.)
now i'm on a bit of a rant.. but surely being civil, polite and respectful, as i'd hope i always was, is more important?
not looking for 'an answer' but open to discuss! |

but honestly, does it bother you? would you get abusive if someone hasn't? or is it just a childish game? do you have to quote it every time you say hi?? |

One profile I read had a word, but the person didn't tell you what it was, just that it was hidden in the profile and you had to work it out, I just thought it rather pretentious and passed on by. |

You know what..? We have messaged just four profiles who had the 'secret password' in them - and we put it in the message title too, as requested/demanded (delete as appropriate) in their profile - and guess what...?????
Not a dickie bird from them. In all respects, they would have been a reasonable match for us, so not flights of fancy on our part.
Personally, I think some of the 'code word users' do it thinking they can kick back all the messages they get, but when someone actually does find it, hidden away in the bowels of their profile (like one of the ones we replied to was) they are so shocked they delete and block immediately!
Don't bother with people like that now. If you're that up yourself, then you ain't for us...

I agree that sometimes writing passwords/codewords is a good idea to sort the chaff from the wheat. But lots dont read profiles. I admit if I see a sexy womans pic I'll fab it but sometimes she'll have a bi partner Im not saying I want to meet em. There again like this morn Ive had someone wink at me. Being polite I tried to thank em but Im blocked
I just chat to people now because most on here are just fakers or talkers and think theyre TOO good for others.
I cant understand why they wanted to abuse you just because you hadnt read their profile or performed like a seal honk honk.... Maybe kinder just to block you...... Theres nowt so strange as folk |

Lol no of course not, it's a total load of bollocks. If they can't be arsed to respond to a decent message. Or maybe if they don't think you are suited, just forget it and move on to someone else. |

We had one couple that had what they claimed was an anagram but upon telling them that it couldn't possibly be one or two words as not enough vowels they then told us it was to deter single men so completely pointless as surely even they would work out it couldn't be a real word |

True fact - I attended the wedding for the guy who wrote the book 'How to solve the Rubiks cube in 37 seconds' - his claim to fame was appearing on Swap Shop! His name was Nicolas Hammond.
He was NOT Spiderman. |

Are you sure they had'nt put a typo and they should have been looking for single 'MENSA'?

the code word people mostly ignore you even if you put it in the message or title. I dont bother contacting them anymore or people who have loads of do's and donts in their profiles. like someone said before, your either up for meeting or not, report and block them. |

When I'm meeting my profile asks for a joke, it's my first numptie filter - no joke = block and delete. My current profile says don't message me (apart from forum comments) till my old profile goes up else block and delete. It seems to have worked fine for me, my block list is huge and anytime I send back a thanks but no thanks I never get abuse back like so many complain of |

"are you Bi"
"do you live near (usually 50 miles away)

Well I do hope that you instantly added a password to your profile then mirrored their email back (including their password) complaining that they didn't use yours |
