Reports that a loophole is being closed to try and stop cyclists sending their used tyres to landfill. It sounds like the cost of disposing of old cycle tyres will fall to the cyclist. What is going on here guys. It's all over the news

Everything will eventually be at our cost so eventually the illicit dumping of rubbish will become more prevalent

I love a good bike thread. Always brings out the best in humanity on here. Throw in an environmental angle and this is going to be a good one.

#popcorn please!

How dare they charge cyclists for absolutely anything to do with cycling and using the roads!

Thing is you change your car tyres you get charged a few for disposal

Bike tyres should be the same too

(And yes I have both)

My wheelchair tyres are bike tyres. I dispose of them at the local tip in the tyre section. Otherwise they'd sit in landfill for eons, which is bad. It's no hardship.

Maybe just ban cycling as it seems very damaging to the environment…. All the carbon dioxide these lycra clad hitlers breathe out is creating a hole in the sky where space will get in and kill us all.. see if they’re bothered about that ….no…. They’ll blame the innocent motorists again!!

Seems fair. You have to do it for car tires.

Cycle tyres are still tyres! We have been required to dispose of them in the appropriate way at the council tip for 20 years. The fee is nominal.

These cycling types are cunning. Who will notice an old bicycle tyre in a bin bag..

They need to be held to account
