Holy shit, an awful thing to happen. Although does beg the question, why use an illegal money lender. Most people of sound mind would go without before going to those scumbags.

Is this shit for real yo?

Funky Monkey Enterprises™ has a new business model!

In all seriousness this type of loan tactic should be outlawed. It preys solely on the weakest and poorest of society and destroys them.

"Desperate people do desperate things. "

It's testament to what vulnerable people will do in these times when everything is being cut.

And on that subject it's banker's bonus time again.

Just when food banks are crying out for supplies post Xmas.

Sorry. Politics. Ughh. *bangs head with saucepan and goes to make coffee*

"

What if they are say, a security guard, and they need to get to remote sites at odd times to earn a living to pay for said shelter and food?

It depends on the individuals needs and priorities

"Just look at the whopping apr on them payday loans adverts

unfortunately alot of people don't see that they have a choice. The fact that so many of these payday loan companies are thriving is proof of that. banks are lending less & if you've a less than perfect credit score they are sometimes a persons only choice.

just take a look around your high street, charity shops, cash for gold & cash converter style shops are popping up in abundance, 'tis a sign of the times!

Was it pure coincidence that all the bet your life away adverts (bingo and online gaming) appeared shortly before all the borrow yourself into debt company adverts.... ??

And is it only me that thinks that OFFCOM should be strung up by the sphericals, for encouraging it all....

I would have paid a few mates to give to loan shark a good working over and put him in a wheel chair before I'd of paid him back that much. Scum like loan sharks deserve to be crippled same goes for drug dealers
