Seems to me some threads end up in a slanging match . Maybe create a 'time out' forum, so readers can vent their anger away from the subject matter. I remember something similar on another site. |

Maybe the mods could set up a 'time out' page and move the thread there, people can slag each other off as much as they want then and thread can continue fresh from personal attacks. Spoils the fun for me when posts get nasty. |

Mods don't time out threads. They just straight up time out users and delete threads. There's little point in timing out threads because people will just wait for it to be activated again and go right back at it.
You spend enough time in the forums you'll know who are in what cliques and who to just flat out avoid engaging. It's damming with faint praise for me to say that the rules about not directly slanging any users has forced me to learn to get real creative and snarky with my passive aggressiveness sometimes. |

You get people that are nice.
You get people that are argumentative.
You get people that are sarcastic.
You get people that are funny.
You get people that are insightful.
You get people that are boring.
It's kinda like life, variety is good. |

Agree with this 100%! Not everyone on here is for us and we’re not for everyone on here. The variety and differences are what make this place fun |

From some of the threads I’ve read and the way the OP and participants can be attacked with vicious words is no less than bullying. Do these people act this way in person or hide just behind the keyboard? |

In sites where I've seen it, it's called the Thunderdome. |
