Receptionist at work

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

So started my first professional job a few weeks ago and a new receptionist started a few weeks after me.Me and the lady start talking etc and one day out of the blue she calls me cute, do you think this is a sign for me to make a move or maybe I should take it as just a meaningless compliment, she is 34 and I am 24.

Cute is more a term of endearment. Not an invitation to bend her over and bang her.

People we don’t know say our grandkids are cute but not looking to have sex with them are they??

Basically this: at work keep it in your pants or your first professional job will be your last professional job. One accusation of inappropriate behaviour will end your career before you’ve started.

Given it your first professional job and you are a few months in maybe focus on making a good impression with your boss / colleagues rather than asking out the receptionist.

It sounds like a compliment OP take it as one, you could end up making things really awkward otherwise.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions. I get called lovey, cutey all kinds.

I have colleague who says I'd love to fuck you and rubs her breasts on me.

I even take that with a pinch of salt tbh.

My advice don't fuck someone at work. It's not advice I've followed but it's very good advice.

Unless it’s explicitly clear, then better to be safe than sorry in work places especially if your field is a small world.

You should take it as a meaningless compliment regard of how she intended it. I say this for several reasons including she's ten years older, it's your first professional job and any mistakes now will follow you around, you will still have to work there if any awkwardness occurs.

Don't do those things with someone you work with. Or one day they'll bring your knickers into the office declaring loudly "you left these at mine last night"

Send her a LickedIn™ invite. If she accepts, do nothing but see if she repeatedly looks at your profile. If she does create an article about "workplace romance in the modern era".

She'll read it soon enough and it becomes a topic of conversation. Where this leads to I have no idea because I'm just making up this shit as I go along.

I think the age difference may indicate it wa a meaningless compliment. Not all the older women in real life are as insatiable for younger guys as they clearly are on Fab

Been there, done it, didn't end well.

For every success hook-up/relationship I've heard of in the work place, there are 10 stories where it's gone wrong

Most of my girlfriends and even my wife were met through work.

I'm sure working in a female environment helped. You never know, just ask her If she fancies going out for an evening.

It's often used in a style that indicates no flirting or attraction. Let it go. Have a good work relationship.

Move on and meet others elsewhere

glasgow-ish

Most of my work career was in professional offices, public and private sector.

The old saying is don’t shag on your own doorstep and given the hours that work entailed, it makes sense.

I did one ‘shag a Secretary’ and it was bloody fantastic one night fling. Months of the little looks and smiles built up into absolutely hot sex all night. Sweaty mess stuff, still wanting to fuck each others brains out but too tired to do it.

We had a meal date later that week, did it again but wasn’t the same after burning out the tension. Awkward next six months until I left the place.

You say you're 24 , my advice would be that even if she's absolutely beautiful and you really do want to have Sex with her ..for a second..think of yourself and your career ..l would put both wayyyyy ahead of having Sex with her ..why ? .. because in a workplace as the old saying goes the ride is not worth the fall...there is wayyyyy more adventures for you outside of work and outside of her ..no matter how hot you think she is..but that's only my tuppence worth .
