Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I heard the interview on Woman's Hour with Rae Earl and decided to watch this. It's based on her diaries as a teenager and it's quite quite a good look at teenagers.

Watch it. It is really well written and acted. There is so much I could say about it but I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

The new series starts tonight. Be prepared to laugh and cry and just remember the pain of being young.

The first series was so good. I really don't know why more people aren't watching this.

Loved the first series...it's on Sky Catch up for anyone who didn't see it. It is really well put together...manages to be sensitive and funny at the same time somehow

I've only just got into it. I watched an episode late one night because there was nothing else on. I'm glad I took that two minutes to give it a go. Missed it tonight though.

I think it gets repeated later in the week and well worth watching.

It raised some thoughts that I would like to discuss on here but I haven't worked out how to phrase them so that it doesn't end up as a BBW thread.

1996 or 2014 some things remain the same.

That was a hard episode to watch. I remember those transition to adulthood parties where you suddenly feel out of your depth. That pressure to lose your virginity to prove you're a grown up.

Those two last scenes really got to me.

I won't watch it because I know it will both upset me and make me angry.

I don't need more sadness or anger about things I can't change, in my life.

I can understand that. I find it ultimately uplifting. I know how Rae turns out so this is a journey tale.

That would be worth a listen as it was based on a true story

I might scour ebay for the dvd box set and book

How she thought she was ugly in the tv series is beyond me as she looked very pretty in some episodes

Sharon rooney is a very talented actress

Sharon Rooney is on the One Show. I always watch if I spot her on anything after such a great performance as Rae.
