Frank Turner - Redemption reminds me of my eldest son, the album England keep my Bones was our road trip anthem. Redemption was his favourite
Stereophonics - Dakota reminds me of my youngest, played on loop almost when he was studying for his GCSE's

Absolutely....I had a Status Quo song at my wedding that only my friend and I danced to.... our Dads are both gone and were both Quo fans...
I also still cry hearing certain Queen tracks as they were Dad's faves and he's only away 2 years... we were daft enough to use 2 at his funeral

Yes I have loads of songs that remind me of people....
I used to sing Ellie Goulding how long will I love you to sing my kids to sleep when they were babies, every time I hear it now it makes me remember them when they were little and squishy and adorable! |

Mostly ones that are gone
Any meatloaf song now reminds me of a childhood friend who passed away last year as he loved meatloaf
When I was young my dad had a tape he recorded he used to play in his car all the time it only had two songs both were by Cher turn back time and just like Jesse James hearing either instantly takes me back to being a kid when he would take me out for a drive at night while my mam was at bingo |

Of course. I recently wrote a piece on this there’s a fair bit of science behind it.
Some remind me of people,of places, events, happy and sad times.
There are some songs I avoid altogether as too sad to hear due to being associated with very difficult experiences. |

"Absolutely… just a few notes of a song is enough to make you think of a certain person or memory. Same with smelling fragrance that reminds you of them. "
Completely agree.
Songs and scents immediately take me to a place either good or bad.
They act like bookmarks in life |
